This is the kind of review I like. Pleasant, to the point, no shilling

Griffin is famous for showing two different models of the same product in their ads, you're best bet is to go through Ebay. That way you can look through the pictures to find the model you're after and contact them to verify which model it is that you will actually receive.

Beat on it most of the day and it holds up well- no issues so, I'm quite pleased with this purchase and if need be, I'd buy it again

Thanks for your input and thoughts on drum products. How has this stand been working now that you've had more time with it? Would you suggest the basic Gibraltar clamps for Tom mounting over those Griffin one?
@CheapDrumsGuy Жыл бұрын
Hey Paul. The Griffin stand still works fine when I use it. Presently, I'm just using the cymbal stand part of it now with this drum set up. Tomorrow, I switch out the Pearl kit with my "candy-stain" one and will go back and use the rest of the mount. Again, it's fine. The Gibralter clamps are flawless- cannot say anything bad about their products. If you use them to mount the tom arms, you have to use a cymbal stand which I'm not a fan of doing. They also make a double tom mount and it is probably leaps and bounds better than the Griffin one albeit for a different price which I cannot remember what it was. The clamps just come in handy with a lot of different things though I've found.

Can I use the Pearl double Tom STAND FOR MY pdp Encore set
@CheapDrumsGuy Жыл бұрын
it all depends on the diameter of the tom arm tubes. Most of these arms seem to be 7/8" so it should but don't quote me.

@@toddrivero9417 those shell sizes should be fine. Mine are quite large that's why I had to turn the mount backwards in order for it to support the weight. Hopefully your mount tubes will fit. It will not work if your tomes use the "L"-rod arms though. Just use caution- tighten the tom arms in the bracket first before you put the toms on. That added stress may break the screws as you tighten. When you put the toms on and it needs to adjust more, take the tom back off and re-adjust the tom arm.

What kind of drums are these?
@CheapDrumsGuy2 жыл бұрын
Hi Morgan, these are the toms (12" and 13") off of my kit I got from Goodwill for $30. The brand was called "Drum Zone" and they are just an inexpensive beginners set made of poplar. The rest of the kit consists of a 22x14 bass drum and a 16x16 floor tom. Presently (yesterday), I started stripping the wraps to refinish them with two different colors of stain.

@@CheapDrumsGuy i think thats great. I like fixing up drums is the reason i asked. Sometimes, many times, some of the "cheap" drums can be made to sound great. Storytime. Short version. Recently at a show , the sound man complimented my drums. (A rarity), after the show he said he loved the sound comin outa those drums. he asked what they were. I told him cb's from 2012 that i rescued and reworked. Slightly surprised he asked "really? those are cb's?" At that point i knew i did a good job. I just smiled. I still use them before my gretsch for the most part. They are sturdier. And they really do sound good. Thanks for the visit. I enjoy your videos. Peace.

@@CheapDrumsGuy if your not careful, you're going to have a drum refinishing company. If what you did to that snare is any example... you'll be busy.
