I met Griffin in the blistering cold winter of 1990 when he was in Boston filming Once Around with Holly Hunter, Richard Dreyfuss, Gena Rowlands & Danny Aiello. It's one of my favorite films, not the least of which because both he & Richard were so kind to me. Also love his dad's novels!

I haven’t seen that in years. That house! ❤
@GjpgrD5 ай бұрын
@@samanthab1923 The Bella family house was actually in North Carolina & the snow there was fake. The ice skating scenes were filmed in New Hampshire. Pretty much everything else was shot in Boston. I know this because my boyfriend at the time was hired to be Dreyfuss' stand-in until at the very last minute, they decided to go with a paler guy. My boyfriend was an olive-skinned Italian, but otherwise had a similar build & face. We thought it was weird because they had Richard all tanned up for the part. The scene on the Longfellow Bridge where Richard & Holly jump out of the limo was filmed on a -20 below wind-chill day. The steam coming out of their mouths & their shivers were very real.

I went to the Oscars in 1996 when Whoopi Goldberg hosted. I was working at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences where I parked cars. They let me go to the Academy Awards. I took my sister. During the show, I went downstairs at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion to the bar and restrooms. Hanging out down there was Tom Cruise with Nicole Kidman, Quentin Tarantino talking with Tim Roth, Jeff Goldblum (who ironically was my acting teacher at Playhouse West) and Griffin Dunne. After talking with Jeff, I went up and spent 5 minutes talking with Griffin, who was standing alone. I told him how I loved AFTER HOURS and we had a good time conversing. A really great guy. I told him i was an actor and that hopefully we would work together some day. He answered that it was such a small town that it was bound to happen. Fast forward to 2024. We haven't worked together yet. What i do have is a wonderful memory of having the opportunity to talk with him a bit and realize he's as wonderful in person as I had hoped. I'll have to get his book. The audiobook from Audible as well because Griffin actually reads the book himself. I know that'll be awesome and emotional.

I’m a fan of Griffin’s acting and feel for what he and his family went through with what happened with his sister Dominique. I was enjoying the interview up until the question about nepotism. Did the interviewer really have to put him on the spot with the nepotism question? I could understand it if he was interviewing someone like Tori Spelling for instance. Seemed a little unnecessary but he answered the question honestly.
