Eeeh its a smart move from a monetary sense. They have release a 4 year old game onto PC at the end of the current console life cycle, generating extra revenue from an IP that can be picked up for about 9.99 or sometimes less on the PS4. 2 first party IPs is hardly all the 'exclusives' the system has is it?

It's more the fact that through PS now as long as u got a ps4 controller with official touch pad you'll get the chance to play most the exclusives on pc there, they had Spider-Man on it at the beggining of lock down. Spiderman came out in 2018 and death standing came out last year. God of war came out 2018. Old exclusives. Dead horses. Either way, you're paying for games that are no longer in the limelight. PS now is no gamepass. 90% of the library are old titles, it runs on servers that limit performance to PS4 standards and new games like ghost of tsushima arnt on there. when they started to come out on PC the narrative became, xbox consoles are irrelevant. and PS fanboys to the xbox fans. The whole reason to be pissed about exclusives is because they think they are needed. Imagine a world where the competition to sell the best console platform was purely on the hardware and user software sweet, imagine having a 300-2000 dollar console to get that is designed purely to play games, if they made that insane io for hard drives and hell sold that tech. Make a gaming OS that does games, better... Imagine being able to boot into a PS os, and pay for that os like people pay for windows, Imagine able to buy various socs that are that powerful, make your own cooling system

@@innos3997 I mean, I'm on Xbox and I didn't even know exclusives were a thing until like last year. I honestly thought I could have bought spiderman and GoW on my xbox until I saw a bunch of comments saying that they were only on PlayStation. I genuinely hate the concept of exclusive. But Sony and the playstation fan base made that a selling point, at least that's as far as I can tell. I didn't even know that halo and gears and forza were exclusive to Xbox. I never really played any of those games because I can't really afford buying a ton of games. I've only ever played the very mainstream stuff like COD and the sports games and free games because it's what I could afford and they had the largest player bases and most of my friends have them. This is also a reason I'm sticking with xbox for next gen. Gamepass is such an amazing deal for me. I'll be getting EA play, with the recent Zenimax acquisition all the Bethesda games, and a ton of indie games that I never really bought. I'm extremely excited for next gen and hopefully I'll be able to get a used ps5 in a few years and play all those games with the ps+ collection. This next gen is gonna be a lot more fun for me than the one we're currently in.

The reason they ported ps4 games over to pc: If a PC player plays horizon zero Dawn and enjoys the game he would want to buy more playstation content like consoles so sony did this to get more consoles in homes so it's a win win for both.

I don't think that's the case. They port games over to reach a player base they wouldn't get other wise, and they get some to double dip. There is more to PC outside of graphics. Buying into a console is very restrictive. You are told what you can play, how you can play it, and there is an online extortion fee. PC allows you to play what you want the way you want.

You can build a pc for the price of a console though. Unless of course the person buying your console is your parents. Then it's their money and you don't really have control. That's an assumption however as I have no way of knowing how old you are or who's paying for your console. The point is that $500-$600 dollars will buy you a decent PC. Not enthusiast 4k 144hz capable PC but a decent PC. Added note. The PC will only cost $500-$600 if you build it yourself. If you get it from a pre builder it will cost a bit more because of labor and shipping.

What I like the most is just the free online functionality, cheaper games and the freedom of using whatever input device you want. Of course there are many, MANY more advantages but those are the most important to me. It's just funny how console players try to tell people "PC gaming is ExPeNsIvE"..... Yeah, how about NO. I saved SO MUCH money since I own a PC it's crazy. Yes the entry prize can be a little higher If you want a bit more than average performance, but that's on the buyer to decide. There are buget builds that have almost console prizes and have better performance. But it really pays out in the long run (I payed 750 in 2016). I have more than DOUBLE the games on PC and I didn't even spend half as much than on my old PS. GG.

I've been a PC gamer since '92, and played awesome classic Commodore 64 games on my C128 for five years before that. Many of my non-gaming related interests benefit from having a beefy PC, so using the money I might spend on a console on a high end video card instead and dropping it into my machine just makes sense. Plus, many of the gaming genres I enjoy the most have traditionally been under-represented or unavailable on consoles, so for me, the PC is the only game in town. There's only been a handful of console exclusives over the last thirty years that I really wish I could have played on my PC, I've had too many other options to worry too much about what I've missed out on. Today, the distinction between PC and console is much less than it used to be back in the golden days. Just get what you like and don't worry what the other guy is doing.

I've traveled hours to a city to help a friend buy his first PSP, advised another whether to buy a PS3, played coop with my brother on his 360 and currently enjoying nightly silly times with my friends in PUBG Mobile. It’s a sh*tty business practice that dramatically shrinks a game’s customer base in a vain and manipulative attempt to get people to buy the console a game is exclusive to. Imagine how much more money Sony would have made if they let Xbox and PC owners buy Spider-Man PS4 for their preferred platform. It’s the same for any exclusive. All a publisher does by making a game exclusive is shoot themselves in the foot and limit their profits.
