Before I started my Scratch Addons videos, I was just a really little kid going through griffpatch's list of projects, looking at all of them and wondering how on earth he did all that. I was there for the first video, so seeing griffpatch hit 300K is crazy. Griffpatch, you are a pioneer and an amazing developer (and an amazing editor, might I add). You restructured and shook up the Scratch scene when there wasn't anything interesting going on, and you have continued to do that. You don't post often on Scratch, but everytime you do, it's the only thing the community talks about. You spent so much of your time on this little kids website, patiently dealing with eight-year-olds like me at the time and making games for them to play. You took it seriously, and every now and then injected a little bit of your oh-so-classic dad humor into it. As Scratch KZbin became popular, its peak was where a lot of the big names left. Warfame went on a long hiatus, BoyMcBoy was banned, Huntedskelly and all the others stopped ScratchCraft, and the worst part of it all - FUNUT left. But you were there! Even now, when the community is slowing decaying and there are no "famous scratchers" left, you are still there trooping on. This is something I can't say for myself, frankly, because I left right as the community started to deaden. I regret that I say that, since I poured hours and hours into that little website like you did, but I eventually realized that Scratch wasn't a place for me anymore. Sometimes I feel like the little kid I once was is still inside me, and still cries time to time about that :( Soon after I left Scratch, I left Scratch Addons. Quite abruptly. I was going through a lot in my life and needed to fix myself. I did end up fixing my life, but I needed a new direction. A more mature one. I was not alone in this. Scratch Addons hasn't seen updates in months. All the Scratch KZbinrs have either moved on or left entirely, and the website itself is fading into absolute irrelevancy. The once-vibrant community is now a dull, lifeless skeleton of what it once was. BUT YOU ARE STILL HERE!!! Your cornerstone of the internet is thriving, and I can firmly say, as a veteran of Scratch, your community has surpassed the vibrancy of Scratch's community. Here, I see inspiration, creativity, newness, fascination, and surprise. Intellect shines in every one of your viewers. You have done a very good job teaching them, and for that, I have to congratulate you - not just as the high schooler I am now, but as an eight-year-old too - because you have succeded where others have failed, and once again, you have come out on top. I will be here for whatever you do next. I don't follow the tutorials anymore, but I am going to stick with you. Thank you, and good luck! - Cool Scratcher

We are all proud of you griff and we all are thankful for you to patch up our game projects, I have long left scratch but I still never miss a single tutorial of yours and I am still waiting for the maze generator to be added to the 3D ray casting project. And coincidently I am using Godoy as well as of now. Making my own engine as well. Can’t wait for those as well, you will probably make me feel like an idiot in some way shape or form in godot, but again I don’t doubt griffs ability to patch your games. 😉😉

Congratulations on 300k subscriptions, you really deserve it. It's true that a lot of people like me are definitely trying to switch from Scratch to a better game engine. Personally, I'd welcome a tutorial for Unity, but I can understand someone wanting a tutorial for Godot or other game engines. That's why I thought it would be nice if you made tutorials for one simple game, but each in a different game engine. (but that's just an idea). Anyway, thank you for all those tutorials for Scratch because without you I wouldn't have learned much.

As an avid watcher of your channel, your videos really pushe me to think about problem solving instead of just pointing to a pre-made code or feature. this is also why scratch is a good website for learning and you made a great choice making tutorials with it. i use to watch Sebastion Lague a lot, but after discovering your channel, i started watching you because you don't explain things with the assumption that your viewers already know certain complicated concepts. its always just simple and straight forward from the start. and i think all tutorials should be so simple that a average elementary school student could understand it. your play button was well deserved!

I think we should go for Godot for 3 reasons - 1 everyone can install and use Godot on their tablet pc or phone -2 Unity hates their developers (they like charging them tons of money) while Godot is free forever. - 3 Godot has a lack of tutorials if you want to learn Unity there's a million places to do so while on Godot we need someone like Griffpatch to urgentally.

I think Godot will be the best bet, Unity has been on a decline, and godot has a growing community and is open source But what do I know 🤷‍♀️ What matters the most is if you find the engine interesting as that will shine through your videos

Totally with you on the blocks you wish we had. If only this educational Scratch company actually cared to update the editor to Scratch 4.0. Its missing so many useful things such as string splitting, sprite stretching (theres actually a trick for that with fisheye effect), playsound at specific point (trick for that is buggy), and so much more. And of course, congrats to your channel! You are always making people happy on Scratch! :D
