Hi, Tracey and Billy. Well done both of you getting over the styles they looked very tall. Views looked stunning. The weather was mainly on your side although windy. Nice spot for your lunch break. Thought you'd fallen over in the mud until you put the camera on your feet. Very pleasant walk. Thanks for sharing your adventure. ATB. Take care. X

Hi Tracey, Hi Billy, that looked a warm old day on the fells. Billy made those stiles look a doddle to get over. I reckon he probably got over them quicker than I could! Haha I bet that water tasted good when you got back to the car. All the best Dave

A really pleasant walk in terrific weather. Not dramatic but a lovely quiet area. I've drunk from mountain becks for 50 years without any ill effect but maybe I've been lucky. Really enjoyed the video as always.

@gbfch thanks Graham , I've always seen too many dead carcasses in the streams but I was tempted.

Billy sits so patiently. My dog is smaller but heavy. She more or less taught herself how to get over them, she has no fear i am so lucky. Its the tall ones i have problems with, as she is a staffie she is incredibly heavy and i can get her half way way up, just. Then she makes the leap up, waits at the top for me to squeeze by and then i lift her half way down and she leaps to the floor.

@Muddipaws1308 these 2 were very tricky especially the 1st one , so High and steps too narrow for Billy to stand on ....I know what you mean by Staffies ....brilliant she can get over stiles normally

It seems yonks ago since I did these 3 fells but did enjoy them as they were not very busy at all. Especially enjoyed chilling out for a bit on Crag Fell overlooking Ennerdale water. Pity you ran out of water and didn't make it to Lank Rigg. Probably a good decision as I found it quite a slog to get up there. I've run out of water on a hot day myself and it's not pleasant. Still it's a great excuse to get out there and do them again. I'd love to do them again with a bit of snow on the fells. Thanks for taking me back 🙂

It’s a nice walk that one. I normally do it Remembrance Sunday as you can usually hear bagpipes echoing over the hills. It’s really moving.

This is spooky i literally just plotted this route to maybe do in two weeks. I searched for videos to make sure i was not giving myself too much of a task. Here it is today

Hi Tracey, That walk was a bit of a filter against big dogs 🐕, not much chance of being rescued by a St Bernards. As you say that route is well away from the crowds. Good job you just about survived dehydration, mind you despite all that you did seem very cheerful. Have you won the lottery and not told us?? Cheers Graham

A new area to me Tracey. Very informative and looks a good route! Could you come off Lank Rigg straight down into the valley where the rivers meet instead of backtracking to the end of the valley again. Or is it too steep! Great video again ATB
@Traceyattrill-Essexgirlinwild
@Traceyattrill-Essexgirlinwild 3 ай бұрын
@tonypilki3 you can, I have done it but tbh it's rough ground once you get to the river Calder Nd there is no bridge to cross it and no path I know of for a direct way back to Cold fell road , we had to trudge all the way parallel with river back to the footpath jn the valley , so I think it would just be easier to double bCk and head down the valley like I did jn video , just my opinion , it is nice heading over later barrow but we didn't like the river part much. You could access lank Rigg from monks Bridge on the other side of the valley but wouldn't make a good route to access onto Crag Fell and grike like that. Hope that helps

@tonypilki3 NY 05547 10103 I have plotted a 10.5 mile route parking at these coordinates at Monks Bridge to do all 3 fells via Latterbarrow to Lank rigg, Crag Fell, Grike and onto Blakeley Raise back to Cold fell road with quite a longish walk back to monks Bridge along rhe fell road
