How is the grill holding up? How about the griddle and cooking grates? Any rust?

So I've been eyeballing this grill for over a year and did my homework and found out this grill rises to the top based I live in the northeast a lot of snow and the stainless steel is definitely a benefit, I replace a grill about typically every 5 years due to corrosion and rust. Being the grill grill is 100% stainless steel, That takes that out of the equation I also thought about the 2/3 griddle because I don't always want a full griddle I like the option of having a burner open. My question to you is this I wish they had 2 more options 1, a warming rack but I think due to the design of the lid there's not enough space for that space for that and a light. I'm going to wait one more year to see if gorilla grill adds the warming rack and then pull the trigger meanwhile my current grill will stay in use for at least 1 more season and then I will question pulling the trigger on this $1200 set up.

Great video, this 2/3 griddle seems like the best setup. I’m looking at that large 1”+ gap to the burners below along the front of the griddle. Does that blast your wrist with heat as your tending to the items on the griddle?

Not really at that location. But the griddle itself will get really hot if you close the lid down. Sometime I let it get too hot and have to turn the burners to low just to be able to stand it.

This is what we've all been waiting for! Love the Primate, but that griddle is heavy and sometimes you want to use both. This will solve that problem, though there is still the storage issue.

I oiled my big griddle up and placed parchment paper on it. Into the garage it went. Will break it out when I need more room.

@@TheHollarBBQ I guess I'm just referring the relatively little storage space in the Primate in general. This new setup will work great for certain things, but it's not like I'll be able to leave that configuration. I need more grilling space most of the time, and one grate simply won't work. With the unit off, I simply set the griddle on top of the grates and close the lid for storage, then move it out of the way to use the grill, or vice versa...set the grates off to the side to use the griddle. I just wish there was room to store the griddle within the unit itself. Or...to make a long story even longer...are you telling me that the 2/3 griddle will store in the unit cabinets?

@@mph7282 I have not tried that yet. I dont think it will fit. I do store the grill grates down there when not in use. I think grilla needs to make a new cabinet for storage. Or I just build something.

@@TheHollarBBQ I would love to have a separate storage unit for all my grilling/griddling/smoker/pellet grill type of stuff. I got 99 problems with that, and 98 of them are my wife who thinks there is already too much out on the deck and more should go in the garage...or worse. Thanks for the replies.

the hole for grease and scrapings does not look like it aligns with the grill. Having used it for a while now, have you noticed any issues with grease and scraps falling into the flames & drip tray?

Never had an issue. My grease trap fills up just like it’s supposed to.
