In this episode we have a healthy and delicious high protein meal that is loaded with omega-3 fatty acids. Our GRILLED CEDAR PLANK SALMON taste like you are eating at a restaurant, but this dish is easily made at home. So purchase yourself a few food grade cedar planks. I mention a few because you will make this meal on multiple occasions. Soak the planks a minimum of one hour before grilling. In a few minutes, enjoy yourself this delicious meal.

GRILLED CEDAR PLANK SALMON
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
1/8 cup maple syrup
1/2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
zest of half an orange
juice from 1/4 orange
1 large (or 2 small) clove(s) garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh dill, finely chopped, plus more for garnish
1 Tbsp olive oil
1-pound salmon fillet, skin off
1 food grade cedar wood grilling plank, soaked in water a minimum of 1 hour
1. Place cedar plank onto grill grate and allow grill to heat to medium-high heat, between 375°F to 400°F. As grill heats, make maple glaze. In a bowl whisk and combine mustard, syrup, vinegar, orange zest, orange juice, garlic and fresh dill. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
2. Remove fish from refrigerator, preferably 30 minutes before grilling. Poke holes into salmon with a fork. Coat top of the fish with maple glaze pushing some of the glaze into the fish.
3. When grill reaches temperature and cedar plank produces white smoke, brush the exposed side of plank with olive oil. Place salmon onto plank. Close lid and grill 12 - 15 minutes. Serve while hot and garnish with dill.
This meal is a great alternative to cooking smoked salmon. The cedar plank infuses salmon with a delicate, smoky flavor while steaming the fish and keeping salmon moist as it grills. In one bite, you will see why we LOVE this recipe.
