Thank God for JR and his honesty. Keep these podcasts coming as much as you guys can. WWE fan since '96 and I thank you both for telling these stories of what I grew up with. Long live JR

Did J.R. just blame Vince Russo for a storyline in mid-1996? He didn't even start writing the show until 1997! That was your boys Cornette and Prichard, slick.

Rollins definitely should not be making comments about anyone. Seth is an above average worker, yes, but he is not Shawn Michaels or Bret Hart, and its true that his girlfriend was more over than he was, lol.

You cant say your going into a territory war then piss and moan when people start throwing salt. Used to be if you were running opposition the other companies guys would show up with tire irons and baseball bats, now they have a twitter war. JR has been in many territory wars, i'm surprised he's surprised.

I know at the time of this recording AEW was still new and there was hope. If good ol' JR ever goes back and listens to these discussions in the future, however, given what AEW has turned out to be I think he's going to cringe. I have no problems with AEW fans. If that's what you like that's what you like. Every generation has its own pro-wrestling form. But it seems silly in 2021 to hear JR talk about how AEW is or would be something more akin to classic traditional pro-wrestling programs of the 80s. It is no different than the over-produced reality TV product that the WWE presents and is in fact a minor-league version of that product; in spite of JR's protests in 2019. The one thing I like about AEW, however, is that it's giving some of the classic performers from the past who were never able to cash in on the big money a chance to cash in now. Good for JR, Tony, Roberts, Arn, Tully, and anyone else. Get that money.

Undertakers hokey shit was good in 1996, I was 10 at the time. It got a bit cringe in 1999 but now as an adult, I like hokey shit and i think wrestling needs more of it .Maybe I liked more sizzle than steak as a kid. Bring on the occupational gimmicks!

The AEW and NXT total viewership combined last week, was less than the 3rd hour of raw. You liking AEW doesnt mean it's better than WWE. Because the ratings certainly dont prove that.
@TheRealRollerCodster4 жыл бұрын
Everyone has their opinion, i think aew is much better then wwe right now. It is more of an adult based wrestling show, and it is new and exciting. The stars aew have are much better then alot of wwe stars. Aew has a few wrestlers that are well known to be the best in the business. I grew up with wwe, but for the last decade or so its been so lame. Its targeted towards young kids, and they dont listen to their fans. Regardless of what people think aew, and wwe have their ups and downs. They are two different shows, If your a true fan of wrestling check them both out, and stop bitching about shit that doesn't matter. Right now aew is listening to their audience, and believe it or not that matters to alot of fans. That is what really makes aew a better show right now. Along with other things, but that's a main draw.
@Rocket13774 жыл бұрын
@Vince McMahon's Grapefruits: Less than a month after your comment and WWE Raw has now recorded its lowest ratings in history. AEW and NXT combined actually did beat Raw in the viewers this week. WWE have nobody to blame but themselves for failing to make new stars.

I thought Buried Alive was ok. I think Shawn didnt want to work it cause he thought he should have closed out every ppv he was WWF Champion in this reign. It was clear that Shawn would have been co main event. He didnt like that. Undertaker and Mankind did a great job with the Buried Alive Match. I think the fans were pissed cause the heels were buried Undertaker alive not cause it took forever to do it.
