JRs breakdown of Shamrock is phenomenal. Great insight
18:30. And now today they don’t care about the fans, the people that made them what they are today… not the TV deals, but the fans that got them here they’ve turned their backs on them by watering down the product not pushing the guys the fans want Reigns is the only real top guy because they don’t push the mid card guys that could get over, but the WWE isn’t edgy anymore it’s PG politically correct… on top of that they handcuffed their talent roster and water them down. Where as if they just let them be edgy and not cookie cutter the WWE would see higher ratings and better quality and fans would come back and not just for TV or PPV, but house shows. What made the WWF finally successful was the fact that they were edgy and they did try and get as many fans into the seats as possible because they depended on that crowd to pay them. Most of the WWE revenue came from their fans. Now the WWE gets its money from their TV sponsors so they don’t care about the fans they don’t care about their ratings… so they have become PG and they have been for over 15 years and that’s why I don’t watch the modern day WWE shows anymore like 90% of the old WWF audience… back when WWF ratings were getting 10 million people watching and not 1 million or 2 million people watching.

Never made sense to take the title off Austin for one night here. The fans were PISSED. Watch the home video version with the off air footage, the crowd wanted to riot. Wasnt right to have Austin lose 3 months after winning it. I get they wanted to push the shock value that anything could happen. But it didn't help Austin's momentum to lose to Kane here. I guess time would prove that Austin didnt need the title to be the best, but when I think of champions, Steve is #1.
@jees47114 жыл бұрын
The title change didn't stop Austin's momentum You are really overthinking it Stacking the deck up against your main babyface is usually going to get them over even more Austin is still over And it made people want to see the RAW on the next night even more

Guy Incognito Dude they were not hot shotting They changed the belt for one night and put it back on Austin It made for a better RAW the next night wondering what was going to happen He lost it one more time that year and the title ended up with Rock And that was the next WrestleMania main event Title changes can diminish value For instance the Hardcore title But when you have great performers that tell great stories it all works out In my opinion Just because you are a fan doesn't make you or me experts

@jaysmith8505 Жыл бұрын
In the rewatch that Foley/Undertaker did, Foley says that he thought it would take multiple chokeslams (up to 5) in order to cave in the cell from above, so I don't know if that's what people mean when they say the spot went "wrong" but he definitely didn't think it'd be one chokeslam to send him through the cage and down onto the ring. In hindsight it was always gonna go like that though, since the two of them nearly fell through the cage just by merely walking across the top (prior to Foley being thrown over the side).

He has Claimed that Stone Cold, HHH, Hulk Hogan, The Rock and Mankind and Undertaker sucked at at least one time. I agree not every match is a classic but to say they suck. One thing I've always found fascinating about jrs commentary that when he said the words "omg, they've killed him" meaning in that moment it was compelyely real in his mind and he was genuinely concerned and was condemning the company for basically causing the death of one of their stars. He said it with such conviction he was obviously very upset and whatever he thought was ment to happen and what was planned went put of the window and his true opinions of the moment came out uncensored. I have always wondered if anyone ever pulled him up on that and asked him about it i.e Vince or Kevin Dunn effectively JR was accusing the wwf (in that brief and honest moment) of attempted murder lol ever since they have brushed it off as if he said "he's killed him" meaning he ment it like he was talking about undertaker but it was definately aimed at the company and Vince and you can't blame him either considering his limited knowledge of the situation coupled with the sheer violent landing Mick took as he landed on the floor you can't blame him for being upsets and concerned. No one would have been able to stick to the script in that moment considering the violent landing

Dusty Rhodes is a little too old for me I'm only 35 but I've seen some wrestling from back then and it just didn't age well it was very boring compared to the attitude era why would you want to watch Dusty Rhodes elbow people when you can watch Mick Foley fall off of a cage it just wasn't exciting back then

Because it was about loving the characters and caring about who won or lost. Which pro wrestling always has been about and when its good, still is.

Once you’ve listened to one Conrad podcast you’ve listened to them all. Unoriginal and the same stuff repeated over and over
