Before the "This is not beginner friendly" comments flood in, I mean I kept the explanations and examples as beginner-friendly as possible, I'm not saying a complete beginner will have a character in Elite or Ultimate and be revered with loads of factions.

Preparations like that require a lot of planning for someone who just got their first character revered with one or multiple factions. Once you kick-start one character too many, you know what to do by heart. Most of it. But every single bit, even just one, helps tremendously in the beginning. I used to print out cheat-sheets for various games to have things like that handy.

Yeah, totally agree. Hopefully this video will make new-ish players aware that some of this stuff actually exists (merits, iron trader, etc); the build-planning is an advanced stage of playing the game and I’ve only really hinted at it here. Stuff like XP pots and movement augments should be more straightforward to understand. Cheers for the insightful comment, it’s much appreciated 👊🙂

For people that don't have FG or don't want to use a merit, and still want to give their character money, just sell 100 (or more) of the basic components, since you've got loads of them in your stash probably. It's not as efficient as the iron bars but it'll do the trick.
