The Elves who fought against Morgoth during the War of Wrath were given their own identity after deciding to settle in Middle Earth after the fall of Belariand during the 2nd Age. They became known as "Sindarin Elves" and former the new language known as "Sindarin". The Elves who chose to stay in Valinor continue to speak Quenya and are also referred to by that name. This brings me back to Grimes's efforts in drowning the Ring Wraiths in the nearby river. She must of used Sindarin Elvish because if Rivendale is actually nearby (where they must bring Frodo to be saved from being poisoned), it was in Sindarin territory that the spell was cast that raised that river drowning the Ring Wraiths. C will be remembered for this on into the 4th Age.
