She wants nothing to do with her father and took her mother's maiden name as her new last name. The children he had with his first wife he sees sparingly and never gets them gifts they request, but instead buys what he feels would suit them better. He knows he is distant from his children, so that is why I said maybe he wants a fresh start with this new son who doesn't know how weird he is. It's a lot easier to start fresh with someone new than try and convince someone that knows you that you are a good guy.
