I like how it skips from placing the intercooler to "once your intercooler in place". Cause anyone that's installed one knows there was about 1-2 hours of cussing at y pipe tube to get into place.

04-05 Forester XT require a STI BOV and STI BOV recirculation hose. Just figured that out trying to install it on my Forester.

You have to trim the coupler on Y pipe to be able make fit on,Turbo inlet... Its says direct fit ,but its not sir !

Depending on your turbo, you may have to trim the coupler. If it doesn't fit right you may have the couple backwards. The side with the GrimmSpeed logo should be on the turbo.

@@GrimmSpeed i tried both ways on stock turbo and it didn't fit , elbow coupler the way it came doesn't fit on stock turbo,its weird bc it said you can use stock intercooler Y pipe and i m assuming it suppose to fit w/o cutting.... I ordered grimmspeed Y pipe as well and it didn't fit again... It is way far off from the bracket hole and cant bolt up GS intercooler to the hole ... Good luck to cut that coupler straight ... Very disappointed guys ...

What are the toque specs for the intercooler inlet hose clamps and the main hose clamps on the front of the intercooler?

You want them to be tight but not tight enough to strip them. The most important part is to place the clamp right after the bead on the intercooler. That will give you best seal and least chance of popping off under pressure.

Mostly very good but you clearly skipped over the hour wrestling match with inlet and outlet hoses. That is the only really hard part. Would have loved to see you tackle it

Those hoses can be a bit tricky to get on there. Patience is key!

The stock holes has a little metal piece just sit it next to the turbo and then take a flathead and push it on takes about 10 mins

Definitely an exercise in patience and tenacity but once all the stars align and it slides in it's a feeling of victory. I did end up removing the right side bracket and unplugging the connector on the left side of the throttle body for a few more space to slide the y pipe hose into place.

Pretty easy honestly. Remove bolts from hood. Swap splitter in. Put the bolts back in

We haven't tested it in house so we can't confirm, but have heard that it does fit.

jordan aviano I was able to install it with no real issues. The rubber strip sits on the Tial unit lightly.

Hey Chris, I don't suspect you would run into any issues. But we haven't tested our unit with this specific setup. I suggest getting a hold of some pictures of it installed and seeing if it looks like anything would come in contact. @@gtozr1 No, but it would be beneficial to get it tuned to achieve the most out of the TMIC. However what you'll get out of it is improved cooling of the compressor dicharge temps.

To get the most out of your upgrade we do suggest a tune after switching to our top mount. But it is not absolutely necessary.
