Hmmm...don't recall Subaru ever using any lime/green, etc back in the 90's. My kid is named Colin - after McRae - and I followed WRC closely and am a model builder and have reward winning scale models. Never seen them. Unless it was a privateer running an ex-Prodrive car. Same with cherry blossom. Never seen calipers painted that color. Not by Subaru or by Brembo. I know, I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but while the ricer movement seems to have settled way down it just won't die. A quick hit...Subaru F'd up with the neon 6-pots, and the S209 made people think "hey, it's factory, I can put it on my WRX!" Put those aside. A quick example...I'm part of the BL/BP era Legacy/Outback community. As time has gone by, two trends set in. The Legacy people pursued full JDM front and rear end conversions becase it is a huge improvement. And the Outback folks (me) went for subtle lowering. Some people think it's stupid but there is big purpose - stems from Subaru ceasing GT wagon production - and so long as you don't have the SUV two-tone paint scheme, those fender flares make the Outbacks look like widebody Legacy's. I'm biased, but my black Outback with STI wheels, STI grill (from a BM/BR generation - shouldn't fit but I made it happen) subtle OEM chrome rocker strips and JDM rear tailgate and lights and it looks like a Japanese Audi RS4. My 2011 STI pushing 600/600 hp/tq. has subtle exterior and interior changes. Interior has Recaros and went for S206 look. Exterior had chipped paint and a couple small cracks in the bumper covers from the previous owner, so I replaced those and the rocker panels...looks new and engine has 24,000 miles. Both cars are for sale right now, as of tomorrow. Teenagers will walk away. But adults will be my "target". I'll be shocked if someone younger than 30 buys the Outback. Anyway - can we just make one final push to kill the ricer crap? I know, in the community people don't believe they're part of this. But they didn't think anything was wrong in the past, either. I'm totally for Brembos on my 2022 GT coming in August. It's how I found this. But if I get them? Silver or black, with a Brembo decal. It's not an STI, or a Cadillac, and Subaru's always had "Brembo" on their gold calipers for a long, long time. Just more subtle/cool...not necessarily "sleeper" either...just think of Subaru's JDM/Asian-Pacific/Australian looks.

Very cool to hear Ben, thanks for tuning in with us. Haha, I get what you're saying, but it's a bit more calculated than that. I'm confused why you didn't use the 4 pot 06/07 wrx fixed caliper or the gold 4 pot brembo's? The 4 pot 06/07 wrx fixed calipers are really good and you can pick them up brand new for $500 for the front pair. Those 4 pot 06/07 calipers bolt up to most subarus with no adapters or modifications, including my 5 gen impreza. So for $800 with pads, you have really good brakes. Rears are a bit more complicated, but also, maybe another $300 for the calipers and the cost of an adapter.

Just my 2 cents being in the automotive aftermarket industry. This video is like something you would find on NASIOC, not a company who is trying to market a big brake kit manufactured by an aftermarket brake company that tailors their product to a platform. Now if you were to get Stoptech, AP Racing, TBM, etc. to do a build series of what goes into the process of developing a big brake kit upgrade and then the install process. I think that would be way more conducive and carry more regard to the fact new platform, new brake system it needs to be engineered to fit the new platform.

You’re partly right, however if should be stated that we’re not trying to market this big brake kit, rather just showing owners of the new platforms some DIY options that they have for upgrading the brakes. We’re sure that those aforementioned brands will be posting videos of their own actively marketing production BBKs that they’ve created in house and we can’t wait to see those. Think of this video as interesting content, rather than product creation media.
