I'm (very) late, but I just wanted to point out the reason why one would ever want to swap the MFD's; it's because if you fly with right hand and want to change something from right MFD, you can swap, manipulate, swap back and ta-da, right MFD info manipulated without taking right hand off the stick. Rarely needed, so maybe over- engineering, but that is the reason.

True, it’s actually more effective to swap the functions between the mfds than the SOI between mfds

5:12 It's most likely not implemented at the moment, but there was another option on the top OSB that you didn't mention. It's the HAD (HARM Attack Display), that is going to be a page that, just like the TGP, will only be usable when you're carrying the Harm Targeting Sensor and AGM-88 missiles. That screen will present you a map-like screen, where your flight plan is displayed for situation awareness, and all of the radar sources that the sensor detects will be scattered throughout the map (it doesn't actually show a map, it's only a representation very similar to the HSD), and on top of all that, it will display the Harm Range Envelope and a Target Designator Cursor. It's another SOI screen. This sensor makes it MUCH easier and noob-friendly to deploy the HARM missiles effectively. The other method of deploying the HARMs is via the WPN (Weapons) page, which is the same page used for Mavericks. And finally, there is the "blank" option, which just leaves a blank page on the MFD, and makes the DMS left/right click simply skip that page and only cycle through the valid pages. Also, you should be able to toggle your HMCS (Helmet Mounted Cueing System) on and off quickly by holding DMS AFT for 1~2 seconds, assuming you have already turned the brighness up on the HMCS Brightness Knob. But this is for another video.

actually the swap button is very important in the heat of a battle and deploying bombs, if you target is right or left from you and you wanna keep your eyes and attention on it you don't need to keep turning your head or body to the opposite MFD display, instead just click swap to change TGP or other settings always on the same screen, that's why you wanna do that and why pilots themselves though it was very important

So if this is a high fidelity model, how would you do the DMS up/down without keyboard shortcuts, as in if you were in the actual plane/clickable cockpit. not keen on remembering shit loads of keyboard shortcuts

Cap, I’m having a hard time setting either MFD as SOI. I have all the DMS directions associated with a hat on my stick. I’ve checked and rechecked the key-mapping matches the hat switch on the stick and I still cannot change my soi from HUD to either of my MFDs.

DMS down/aft to set SOI. REMEMBER that some screen can not be set to SOI.

Thanks for the vid, how do I move the fire control radar cursor? I have the viper joystick, can I do that somehow from the display management switch also?

How do we get INV (OSB button) to return as an option on the SMS page. It seems to have disappeared ? So, easy fix. Simply click on the A-A or A-G master mode buttons (as needed) on the ICP again. Not sure why the INV option disappears in the first place?

Im new to this but i dont get what SOI does, this just explained how to choose what is SOI... whats different from an MFD from being SOI and NOT SOI? What can or cant I do when an MFD is SOI? maybe i missed it...

Example: you can't slew/move the TPOD or RADAR screens if they are not SOI.

So i loaded up 2 aim 9x, 2 aim 120 and 2 Gbu 12. I had made a very simple mission, take off splash 2 MiGs then switch to AG mode find a tank amongst some buildings and drop a lgb on him. If i take off and kill tank then MiGs everything is fine but if i go AA mode then try and Switch to AG im having no luck in getting it back to that mode? Also the TGP is a pain if i lose where it is im so used to just pressing a button on A10c so it goes to default look forward position and then reacquire. Am i missing something or is some of this stuff just not yet in? I know its early access so its not a rant. I just want to make sure im not missing something obvious. Also sometimes my JHMCS will vanish when i try and switch dog fight mode with something. I think shes getting parked up for now before i go mad!

Not sure the hat switch curl is accurate. Switching between down and down did not switch between left and right mfds. I always had to first select the HUD and then select down to change from left to right mfd
