Glad I found this video. It goes over all options. Can you tell me if you still have a slight rake with your WD lift? Also about how much weight can your carry before running nose high? I am considering this setup. Great job.

Thanks Brian! The WD lift definitely improved the rake… but it still had a slight one. Didn’t take much back weight to get the nose coming up. Maybe a rear swing out with a spare tire and it’d be up slightly.

Curious since you have many miles on the Westcott Lift (2 4Runners now), is the ride still compliant or has it tightened up the front end a lot that it’s annoying? Appreciate your input, thanks in advance for your help.

It’s not bad at all. Definitely makes for harsher bumps but the driving mannerisms are improved for everyday driving. Less brake dip/dive… tighter handling feel. But if you off road all the time, not sure I’d go this route.

Thanks for the quick reply! I have a ‘new to me’ 22 Lime Rush and contemplating the Westcott lift. Seems like everything else is too much of a compromise and not safe to run, especially at full articulation off-road. My miles, like most will end up being 90% on-road, but having extra ground clearance is a must for tacking challenging trails. I think this is the best choice, Westcott, that is.

this is really helpful.......high quality work and products. I was not a big fan of the "lime rush" color until I saw it in person, you are right it grows on you. I was at the dealer early this week and they had one. I ended up ordering a magnetic gray PRO..3 months out . the one comment I would toss at you is to get a cap /insert for the tow hitch. it pops right in and provides a more finished look. thanks for sharing the build.

You have really good taste in mods, I think it is perfect. Extremely capable, but without being obnoxious. It looks like it could have come from the factory like that. $6100 in mods is not bad at all. I figured if I bought a Tacoma TRD Off Road or Sport I would need $10k in mods to get it where I want it. I'm leaning towards the 4runner for many reasons, but not having to mod it as much as a Tacoma is a major factor. One of the reasons my Tacoma mod list is so high is because I would need a camper shell, which is around $3k for the one I want.

Local dealer had one for around 54k went in to pay cash. They tell me there is a economy adjustment fee of 10k now 64k. Of course I told then to shove it. Sure they will find a fool but not me. Hey Seva, I prefer ceramic coating. I’ve seen clear bras get equally crummy looking at chipped up paint. Paint protection films don’t age well imo.

I think the white letters out was the correct choice given the wheel color. Black on black needs some type of breakup somewhere. If they were gunmetal, bronze or Silver wheels then yes white letters in

This is a nice setup. Honestly anyone who has an adverse reaction to the annual special colors had a screw loose, there's always MGM for those people. I'm working on a 21 LR Pro Tacoma build. Agree with your install motto. I'll do my westcott sliders and RCI roof rack myself, but need to find an extra set of hands for the sliders. The westcott lift I have to find someone to do it for me then I'll decide on what KO2 sizes I want to run...all I know about my KO2s is I run the white letting on the outside too. Congratulations on the build!

Man, they were sooooo simple to install. Especially if you have a 2020+ 4Runner… you’ll use your fuse box in the engine bay versus the one in your footspace. Purchased from 4Runner Lifestyles.

Did you install the roof rack yourself? If so, how was the install? Some other videos seem to indicate getting the stock bolts out can be difficult.

Westcott Designs installs them with 4 guys at each post. Frame is assembled then carried over the roof and set, then bolted down. Yes the stock bolts can fall down in their seated holes from what Westcott explained to me, so have to be very careful when removing the stock ones.

Struggled adjusting the low beam headlights to where they are tolerable, distracting dark shadows just before cut off line on drivers side with no help from dealer. @@kimbuck-2 I've seen a few people complain on forums. So I adjusted mine up some(super easy to do) and it pushes the "cubes" out further to where it's mostly tolerable. Dealer has adjusted them twice but tells me beyond that "we leave here at 4 so we can't check them out in the dark". My best guess is a problem with the shutter between highs and lows.

Here’s my question that you didn’t answer in your other video: How does the perch wescott 2 inch lift in the front and 1.25 inch in the rear impact the MTM cameras and TSS sensors? Does everything work fine with the cameras and the sensors? I thought these lifts screw up sensors.

And curious why wescott everything? What’s sets them apart from CBI, Sherpa, victory 4x4, Gobi rack? Why the perch lift when there’s kings, dobinsons, etc? Just curious what advantages are with wescott rack and lift

@@D_F_L_ the Westcott lift is a cost effective way to retain OEM Fox suspension from factory (which you ultimately pay the premium for in a TRDPro) to fit larger tires. Yes, Kings with aftermarket UCA will be a much better setup overall but why would you pay for the TRDPro just to rip all the oem Fox shocks out? Get a TRDORP instead. Perch lifts are considered detrimental for stock coil springs and coil bind has happened to many folks where the coil springs snap and fail. But it is $400 for WD vs ~$3K for Kings and UCAs. As for why all Westcott stuff, idk some people are just loyal to a brand/fabricator. There are so many out there but imo CBI makes the best underbody skids, C4 the best rear bumper and sliders, and their ladder is pretty much identical to WD. Relentless Fab or C4 for a front bumper. UpTOP Alpha roof rack is pretty much the cream of the crop, Prinsu second best. Even the tires are a personal choice - BFG KO2s are arguably the most popular and well known, aka your dad's tire. But it's mostly for aesthetics, performance wise arguably Toyo AT/III, Falken Wildpeak AT3W and even General Grabber AT/X are better performing offroad. AlphaRex Novas are also a better design and output than the Morimoto XB headlights. Everything is preference, and if you had watched any of this guy's previous videos he flips these Yotas quick. Why put all the aftermarket investment in them? It adds no value to resale and is completely subjective taste. But his choice in mods are obviously for aesthetics as a recognizable mall crawler that appeals to majority of potential buyers. He never actually offroads them. Hope this helps!

Love it! Any thoughts on the concept of if your modifications are extensive enough it’s better to start with a less expensive TRD off road? Since the pro is so capable out of the box. I had the TRD off road and loved it even with no mods. Then recently upgraded to the pro to keep long term as the last of the dinosaurs.

The 295hp from the 4.0 V6 actually isn't bad. Sure more power is always better however, for the trails its more than plenty. For passing on the highway I will agree it lacks. Magnuson is working on the tune for the 2020+ 5th Gen 4 Runners at this time. Once that's completed all of us should be making around 400+hp after installing one of their super charger kits. I never understood why anyone would want 600-1,000hp on a truck unless it's being used to haul livestock, 5th Wheels or Mobile Homes. I get so many trucks trying to race my super cars all the time so hilarious.

Nice Pro! I'm a huge fan of the Lime Rush color as there are so many boring silver, black and white 4 Runners out there. They are a dime a dozen. Nice to see something unique for a change. I have an SR5 4x4 wrapped in a similar color called Matte Dynamic Lime. I have some of the same mods but went ape shit on the rest. Lot's of Westcott Design parts on mine crazy suspension etc..
