Jeff's video totally slams sissy squat for seemingly good reason. Any input on the subject?

Mr. Potato head Jeff doesn’t advise increasing muscle tension in quads and hamstrings while doing the sissy squat which reduces load on the patella and quadricep tendon, Matt is a muscle tension guru

The magic to it is 2-3 days rest in between. Training the same muscles every day will break you down and stop gains.

Matt would you do a full body routine with finishers, please? I thank you in advance because everything you share is of great value to the RDP community
@RedDeltaProject
@RedDeltaProject 4 жыл бұрын
Not a bad idea, although the finishers are much more free-form in GSC as you can use whatever moves you like ot push the muscles to a high degree of fatigue

Sman two different philosophies. They actually conflict so you need to decide which way to go. Chain training is far more like an athlete should train rather than individual muscle groups which is more bodybuilding like. Both have their place but one needs to choose.

i can not believe that someone like you can "rest" for 3 days/week. I know i can't, gotta do something everyday if i am not sick, underfed or in a hurry.
@RedDeltaProject

lol, If you can call it rest. Although I did wake up feeling pretty off today, so maybe today will actually be a rest day. Well....maybe just a warm up set or two......

Ive been doing shrimp squats for months, and my legs still hasn't adjusted to it (strength wise), my common sense theory is that as you grow your upper body, it becomes the "weight plates" for your legs.
@onceuponthecross1

Try doing the with hand support like Matt, it's totally different and you can focus in strength.

There's some merit to that for sure. The bigger you get, the stronger you get etc.

Why do you prefer shrimp squats over elevated split squats? ESS are superior since you can go down lower. If you place your supporting leg in one of your handles you can go down and back at the same time. This makes the range of motion and the stability training a lot greater. Plus, it's less contact with outside surfaces which means less assistance. Shrimp squats don't go down as far, don't incorporate as much stability since you are pulling/leaning on a solid surface and you are using your arm for assistance.
@RedDeltaProject
@RedDeltaProject 4 жыл бұрын
Simple, they are way harder plus you can certainly make them deeper with the jumbo shrimp squat which is when you're on an elevated surface. Those suckers are the bomb and have a massive ROM to boot.

So the explosive calisthenics should be a finisher, not a warm-up?
@RedDeltaProject
@RedDeltaProject 4 жыл бұрын
You can do it either way. But the warm ups in GSC are more about tension creation and control which are both more difficult to achieve with an explosive technique.

I DON´T WANNA TELL ANYBODY WHAT TO DO, BUT I WROTE HERE IN THE COMMENTS PREVIOUSLY ABOUT MY CONCERN ABOUT SINGLE LEG SQUATS AND THAT THEY JUST CAN´T BE GOOD FOR YOUR HIPS AND/ OR KNEES ( I GAVE THE EXAMPLE OF THREE LEGGED DOGS AND THEIR LONG TERM JOINT DEGENERATION)..SOME OF YOU GUYS MOCKED ME FOR THIS...NOW, DON´T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, BUT YOU MIGHT WANT TO WATCH THIS GUY: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpeTapxnZap4l9U
