Grinding control arm for clearance on my 84 C10

Had to grind some of the lower control arm for clearance so I can use my 15 inch wheels after installing McGaughy's 4.5 lowering kit on the front. I was going to replace my cab mounts but they didn't want to come off the easy way and I didn't have time to finish them so next time we work on "Crusty" we'll get the cab mounts done!

The instructions on most of these drop spindles say to use wheel spacers? I have yet to see anyone actually do that. I wonder whats up with that?
