I'm always amazed learning the traditions of every culture. I may not understand their traditions any more than others find my people's traditions odd. Being if the Cherokee people we honor long standing traditions, ceremonies that have been passed through the generations. So much of our culture was victim to the attempt to destroy by the Europeans coming to America but we held strong to our culture and today I'm so proud to be a part to passing along our traditions to my children. I feel culture, traditions should be held strong, not allow others that don't agree or understand stomp then out. As long as those traditions cause nobody harm or a forced thing such as child marriage, forced marraige and circumcision, none should judge another's belief. This world is big enough to allow that freedom every person to live their life, their cultural traditions as they see fit. One shouldn't be forced to live another way just to please the other. Respect, freedom and choice should be for every person

I know. My little sister is a dental hygienist. She would lose her shit if she saw this. You can't regrow or regenerate enamel & that is what protects the integrity of the teeth. She even does pro-bono work on indigenous children in order to keep them from losing their teeth as a young adult (a problem many in the area she works in have faced). She seriously would freak about this.

we're an archipelago, so every island has its own traditions. Bali happens to be a predomanently hindu island so the culture is hindu. We had a really big buddhist influence BAAAACk in the day so in places like Jogjakarta where the biggest monarchy was centered all those centuries ago, theres a lot of buddhist culture and religion influence. But since the big uprise of islam, and the adoption of it being our "national religion" or wthvr, most places has a very predominantly strict muslim culture. we're just a melting pot of culture religion and traditions, its like being in 6 countries at once

I love how chill she is! I love how she still embraces and respects the tradition too. I just wonder, what if a relative does not die until much later? My grandmother died last year when I was 28.
