Your videos just keep getting better. Content, video and sound quality, video composition, explaining clearly what you are doing and why, and showing the sequential steps to finish the job. The Bartons are going to need to be wearing sunglasses all the time pretty soon. ;^) Seriously, we really do appreciate everything your family puts into your work for our benefit. Solid Rock Machine Shop, Inc. has become one of my few top favorites. The content is not available elsewhere in any kind of coherent format...

Great demo of these four Steve, we are learning from you as future surface grinder people. We both Lance and Patrick LOVE Don Bailey he has shared some great videos over the years past and he has been great at helping us. Great wheel dressing sound lesson for me to clearly understand the loaded wheel build up in different Y directions. Yes we like the squareness gauge hope we can afford one, we will have to see you making it and that might cause us to buy one. You do great grind work thank you.

Hi Lance and Patrick, Don Bailey has some great stuff, I really like watching his videos. We plan on selling the Squareness Gage in the near future and will make videos of the build for those who rather build their own. We don't have a cost yet but they will be made out of DC53 with the cryogenic process. I hope to have some ready by spring of 2019. Steve

Hi Steve, it was complement and I'm letting you know that I tried the ground in shim and it worked perfectly. I was out .0004" in 3" initially and using the ground in shim I don't see the needle move on the .0001" test indicator. I don't have the test block with the radius edge so I mounted the indicator on the jig grinder spindle to check for square and it worked perfectly. Thanks again, Eric

Excellent work Steve and Kathy, I'm learning so much from each of your videos. The relaxed simple explanations of the fine points of the job and the work flow... Just Gold. Even, or especially, not editing out the miss steps or almost miss steps is a real heads up to the potential traps to the work. Thank you for all of your efforts. A question, which cluster diamond dressing tool are you using? Living in Australia presents some difficulties with supply, haha. Also Radiac don't seem to have an agent in Australia...

Is that indi square just a ground bar with a split collar sliding over it? Thinking of starting to make some?
@SolidRockMachineShopInc

Hi Brian, I have not taken it apart but the papers sent with it said something about a split bearing. It is riding on a precision shaft that can be calibrated in 2 directions with cam screws. Simple and clever design. Steve

Hello. Thank you for sharing. I am learning so much from your content. Was wondering what type of measuring machine you are using to measure the block? I’ve not seen an analog system like that before and can it find anything for sale with that level of accuracy. Specifically I’m talking about the large box with the analog meter

Does DC53 heat up as fast as D2 when grinding?
@SolidRockMachineShopInc

No. It grind much like A2 at 60 RC. The cryogenic process makes the grinding even easier. It beats D2 in every aspect. I refer to it as D2 on steroids. Steve
