It has been a like a journey for me to fall in love with your content. Initially I was just watching a rabbit video but the way you express yourself and help viewers understand is just amazing, the way you give details about everything you do, the way you are realistic all the time. Trust me this is kind of a therapy for all the people wanting to homestead but can't afford to. All your dogs,bunnies your husband and all of us are really blessed to have someone like you Please keep making videos for us Thanx

I have a question. If the babies get so much larger with a smaller litter, would the best thing to do (meat only purpose ) is cull some kits? Obviously when working to develop the next breeders, one would not want to do that, but for other litters, would that be best? TIA God Bless

@@TealStoneHomestead LOVE your dog food regime!! Mine’s a medical diet and supplements are critical, one thing I read when tweaking it that was interesting was selenium, apparently it’s low in dog food generally and low in raw diets as it’s mainly in fur and feathers. You need very little. Apparently deficiency is linked to CCL (knee ligament) issues which seems a common issue. Very nice content! 😊

You should invest in a 50lb tilt meat mixer. Kinda pricy but it'd pay for itself in time and effort. Made with meat has one but they want $500 for it, maybe check around on black friday.

I love seeing more small farmsteaders because the animals are so much better taken care of and often loved like family! Even ones that end up nourishing a family in the end had such a happier life than the poor ones doomed to a large scale operation. I also have meat rabbits and treating them well and knowing they'll have a calm end is a blessing for me.

I would feed the kibble separately! If there is something wrong with the kibble your dog might not eat it but if it’s mixed with the raw they may not know. I had a mini dachshund and a Doberman, I always mixed pumpkin and rice with their food, Dobie didn’t eat it but my little doxie did and died the next day. Too much vitamin D in the food and she died b4 we could get to the vets😢. 5 other dogs were at the vets, all of them died.

Only thing i would minus the rice and add some other secreting organs like kidney, spleen, pancreas, ect. Along with the liver to help balancing out but this is great i definitely recommend for anyone looking to do raw to talk with a canine nutritionist with the proper qualifications and schooling and/or a vet who specializes in nutrition to ensure your dogs diet is properly balanced and not destroying their health
@yogsothoth53702 ай бұрын
If a "canine nutritionist" tells you to put spinach or any other kind of leaf in your dog's food, get out of there as fast as you can!
@snorkiefilms94572 ай бұрын
@@yogsothoth5370 I studied canine nutrition and animal sciences spinach is perfectly fine for dogs when prepared correctly it should be Steamed then pureed for optimal digestion and nutrients absorption many vegetables and greens have to be prepared in the same matter as dogs don't have the necessary enzymes to break down the cellulose so that work has to be done for them or feeding green tripe also aids as it has the cellulose already broken down
@yogsothoth53702 ай бұрын
@@snorkiefilms9457 You're missing the critical component of "but why?" Why do all that just to be able to feed a leaf to a carnivore for zero benefit to the dog? I suspect the answer might be because it makes childless people feel more like they're taking care of their "babies."
@snorkiefilms94572 ай бұрын
@yogsothoth5370 dogs are facultative carnivores meaning they can benefit from non animal products aswell meaning they do actually benefit from fruits and vegetables like many other animals as they are packed with vitamins,minerals, and antioxidants while in the wild they would receive their veggies/fruits and other vegetation from eating the intestines and stomach of their prey who have the necessary enzymes to break down the cellulose so yes they actually do benefit from it and it's not like it's a majority of their diet it's only about 10% of their diet

What a very insensitive comment. She is raising food for her family without all of the chemicals used in commercial processes. She knows exactly what is in the feed and the humane process of culling her heard! Unlike most people who get their food from the store which came from very inhumane stockyards, she is sharing her journey for people to learn from and does a superb job. She is helping her family and others which is more than you have done with your nasty comment, practice what you preach!
