Күн бұрын

I start a new base on one of the hardest asteroids (Aridio) using the hardest difficulty settings possible. It should make for an interesting playthrough. Can we survive in Oxygen Not Included?
In this video:
set up an oil refining room to make petroleum
added pincha peppernuts to soak up polluted water
broke into the frozen core
Map Seed is: 405534122

I think you should connect all your Natural Gas Generators (geyser and oil refinery) to the Natural Gas Buffers before feeding it to the Power Generators and that grilling thing. That way you get a more stable flow of Natural Gas. You also forgot the Hydrogen geyser xD Nice gameplay btw

Hello! Thanks for this quality content! Some random remarks that hit me on this vid: - There is a decor malus for non-sweep items... instead of building more statues around the refinery, sweep the place will help a lot also ;) - I question the fact that power activation windows are not overlapping for power generation on smart batteries, especially when you say that if needed, all machines will be functioning at full tilt. If you want to have that, all machines should start at batteries below 20, coal stop at 40, petroleum at 60 and natural gas at 80. This will be en efficient "all machines works at the same time when power pic". but this means that all will work, and coal will not be saved and will be consumed. So having all machines running when power pic and resource-saving to use the more abundant first seems to not be compatible with the automation batteries offers... Anyway, you should let the systems overlap "a little" on their automation window to be sure to not trap yourself into a unique power mode :)

You know what would be cool if Klei added in "reclamation" tiles. letting you restore the natural tiles from your inventory of stuff. That way the asteroid wouldn't look like swiss cheese at the end of a play through.

Finally caught up. I usually watch your vids over a nice cup of Coffee and it's very relaxing and had to cover your previous unfinished series and this one. Really enjoy it. Also two things I wish to suggest if you read this 1. I know you have to play at max speed to keep your vids at 1 hr and you are also recording but maybe pause or slow down every 10-15 mins to reassess. Might cut down silly errors or things you may have neglected 2. Do build a conveyor system for storage mainly cause I wish to see one done from scratch and it will help later when you move to rockets. Also Subbed!

Great work, learning alot as a new player (if only I can remember it all). Anyway, the things that are freezing at the core I guess is the core melting at the top, and when the water starts till fall, it freezes back to ice. So it's ice drops that keeps falling. Wonder if each piece is a separate object in the game, if thats the case it will start to lag things up over time I guess. Keep up the good work!

I don't know if that helps, but... in my last game I got slickster eggs from the portal so I made a room inside my base for a ranch. I pomped all my CO2 into the room (I didn't even bother making liquid lock). At the beginning pressure was high (like 10kg high), but as soon as they multiplied I run out of CO2. I mean if I am not wrong their consumption rate increases very much when they are tamed. It would probably be enough if you just made a ranch down where you have them now. Ya, it takes some dupo-time but worked very well for me.

@silphy2677
@silphy2677 5 жыл бұрын
@@GrindThisGame At first sure. I have not seen longhair slicksters for some tens of cycles. But with time there started to come some eggs of them which I immediately cooked. The CO2 was pomped from my petrolium generator, plastic making and so on. It was quite hot. Room was isolated and started at around 40C. I was also using eggs incubator for slicksters eggs. I'd have to check but I believe that despite the temperature, their reproduction ratio don't change dramatically.

Your really don't need the cooling loop that cold. 25 is more than enough because when it turns on and comes out it's 10. You're going to end up freezing the water in your loop then you'll have more problems. Frozen core for what? It's ice. You don't need the ice. You've seen ice before:)

Oassise will probably be boring to record, since you can't do much unless lucky with Printables since the heat will kill your dupes outside of the start biome without at least cold shirts but preferably exosuits and the start biome don't have any access to fiber. Unless you do something cheesy like adding salt oceans and Large glaciers etc. I'd say rime with Frozen core + Large Glaciers for the super cool world effect, cold won't kill your dupes if you decide to do some exploring. My Oassise are pretty cold now thou due to the mass cloning of Dense Puft's those little buggers keep being cold and inhales hot oxygen and poops out ~20 degree oxygen which makes them fly around like wheezworths deleting 50-60 degrees like magic... I just keep releasing them instead of eating them, making them reproduce themselves each one I release manage to lay one egg before reverting to wild when they will just lay one more egg. However It's two more permanent critters, think there's like 80+ of them now.

You might want to sit down and really look at the priority system. Tidying is a seperate Job Category, setting a Tidy job to priority 9 is NO DIFFERENT than setting it to priority 1. Tidy/Mob and Disinfect is the 3 things that is covered by Tidying,. The smart thing to do is to set Tidy to Very High Job Priority and have most other jobs avoid very high priority, that way you don't have to set priority EVERY again, but can just make tidy/mob/disinfect jobs, making 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 and 7 and 8 and 9 priority is ALL the *same*.

i really doubt liquid locks would ever be gone completely. technically a 323 box of water with a small wall jutting down the middle (hence not a true 3x3) would make a liquid lock even if they "fixed" the current version. again if the airlocks actually worked this wouldn't be a problem, then again there are several things that would be nice quality of life things (like a liquid tap that could get liquid out of a pipe in bottle form) edit: hmm if you dumped the natural gas geyser line into the tanks then output the tanks to the generator/ general output then you would have less backup. even if it did backup then you still have the "natural tanks" where they are located. but then again you could just make more generators. personally i think its best to have buffer tanks and filter pipes (to prevent problems) but then designing things right the first time prevents that. (for example

Rhime is n"ice", but there are volcano's on the planet that you can tame fairly easily for heat. Also the liquid tepidizer is an awesome. On top of all that, the planet is slimelung free, due to the cold killing all the germs. As a matter of fact I see him trying to cool things off more, which in rhime, you can almost ignore. I do not believe he should have any problem.

There are some plants that only grow in chlorine. It also cleans infected slime in containers within a cycle or two. It's a bit tricky though. If the air pressure isn't high enough the slime will gas off polluted oxygen and in some way the chlorine is actually consumed then. Best stored in a very small room only accessed from the top, so it doesn't drift around. Generally it's a nuisance though and hard to get rid of
