Hi there, you can always uproot the wheezeworts and move them to new areas where they're needed, once they've dropped the temperature to blue on the heat map it won't rise back to orange in a hurry, just a thought. Happy to see 40k peeps subbed to you, nice to know not everyone enjoys shouty ego KZbinrs. :)

By the printer portal you can plant two light tiles to the left and 3 on the right side. Prohibit consuming raw bristle berries and cook them for more calories. Also, you're probably getting starvation because they don't have time to get to eat with long commutes. One extra free time will help.

There is a duplicant sensor, sends green if they are near. The plates turn red if they move, so no movement speed bonus

Small tip: you could just use the duplicant motion sensor instead of pressure plates ;) They introduced them specifically because light now gives a bonus. Great series, i liked your older ones too, but im really enjoying this one :D.

Well deserved 40k subs! =) This play through inspired me to try my hand at it, except I disabled care packages at the printer. Without Wheezeworts, I've had to dirt temp shift plate my entire farms and use the ice makers to keep it cold. I've managed to get it down to a stable 20C. I love using motion sensors to automate the lights, you should use install some in your ranches too!

I'll try out the motion sensors. When I try oasis I'll leave off the printer care packages and ramp up the difficulty. For cooling I was going to use a thermo regulator to move heat to a hot area (likely CO2) and maybe dump in space and later on do the aquatuner/steam turbine heat destroyer.

Oh and you should use plastic or metal tiles for your "highway" (and really around the base as dupes run 2x as fast on them as they do normal tiles) but they also give +5 and +15 decor (metal is better) Make the decor nice on the highway, put paintings, crown molding, etc...

if it wern't for the wort seeds you got, the difficulty would have been A LOT harder. the reason? you couldn't grow meal lice or bristle berry without them. you would have had to rely on your pips/ hatches for food. (and you address this at 48:30 :P) 32:00 you should have been able to just connect the wires. if there is a pressure on either plate it should turn on the light. actually yeah that would have worked you can see it when you looked at the automation. 33:00 dupes are eating meal lice by itself. . . really should increase the cooking priority for the main cook to prevent that. 45:25 oh, you actually plan to eat meal lice plain. 37:30 i was hoping to see if lips like that would work or not.

I would have had to use a fan or ice like I started with... or a thermo regulator and moved the heat. There are lots of other options for cooling but the wheezeworts sure are nice (and lucky). I should forbid meal lice but I think I'm going to save the water and just let them eat it now. Yeah the lip is capturing the oxygen up in the "fume hood".

@@GrindThisGame awesome, with the oxygen bubble i'm glad it works. the problem i saw with ice maker is like you said in the video: it puts out a metric TON of heat. though i do suppose there are ways around that but none i could think of early. . . closest i got was semi sealed room with high pressure gases to absorb the heat then vent it to space. otherwise you would be heating half your base (cause i assume you would keep it AWAY from the farm like how you put it down near the oxyferns)

Isn't the thing with geysers just that neutronium is always at absolute zero? Or is the non-neutronium stuff close by also cold? And yeah, as you saw in this video around 32:45, just merging two automation wires together basically creates an or gate, except that you can't use the separate signals somewhere else, unlike with an or gate (the whole wire turns green if at least one green is being fed into it).

New sub and love your vids. Quick question. Down below your base, you have plenty of rust and a chronic lack of algae. Why not set up rust deoxidizers instead? You can pipe off the chlorine into a room for getting rid of your food poisoning issue, purifying water, etc, get salt to add to your dupes food for a morale boost, and precious oxygen. Let me know what you think. Keep up the good work! Edit: saw you mention it at about 37 mins in! You rock!

Use the priorities. It's so much easier than having everyone doing everything and getting nothing done. Builder's build, digger's dig, cook's cook etc. They do those jobs before anything else. Your setup your farming tiles as a 8. And everyone can do farming so everyone jumps to that job getting nothing else done. You have a farmer for a reason. Their job is to farm. It's not your cooks job to farm. Or your builders job. If you'd just use the priority system Things get done faster than everyone does everything. You Dupes will be a master of none slowing everything down. I have 2 level 24 diggers. They dig so fast I don't need the whole colony digging who are level like 2. A level 24 will out dig everyone in my base. Or I could have a base full of level 2's and never get anything dug in a timely manner. For someone who does know the game pretty darn well there are things he just doesn't do right at all the priority system is one and ranching is another.

I've read something that the tile they seem to be standing on with the animation may not be the tile that actually triggers a sensor. Not sure though. Motions sensors would work well in ranches for example. Not so well in a high traffic area such as this

You keep getting starvation alerts because your resting time is too short, and dupes who are far away can't make it in time. So, when they are low on calories, the alert pops up and they go to eat in the middle of the workday. Overall nothing to worry about.
