Love this video! I was there a very long time ago. The churches and architecture is so pretty; especially from a roof top view. I loved the the Museo Amparo; full of Mexican antiquities from the pyramids and really nice gift shop. with artesania. And it's a great place to visit in the summer because it doesn't get too hot & humid like the coastal areas. 😊

Oh, the Kennons are just getting started... Do you take suggestions? I happen to be obsessed and in love with Mexican and Mesoamerican history (lol) so I know of lots of sites in Mexico that are often ignored by most foreigners and even many Mexicans themselves, including almost 700 16th century fortress-monasteries all over Mexico according to Miguel Leon-Portilla. Some of these even have authentic gothic and romanesque elements so astounding it feels as if you're in medieval or renaissance Latin Europe. Some of the most prominent are in Actopan, Acolman, Yanhuitlan, Yecapixtla, Yuriria, Tecpatan, etc. Not to mention the rich heritage of pre-Hispanic cities and architecture which lie within the Mexican portion of Mesoamerica such as Lakamha (3rd-9th centuries CE), Uxmal (6th-16th centuries CE), Xochicalco (8th-10th centuries CE), and so many more. I wonder if a whole lifetime is enough to see all of Mexico, much less the rest of the Mesoamerican realm from New Mexico to Nicaragua or even the whole of "Hispanoamerica" including the Andean region in South America which has its own unique history and cultures stretching back thousands of years as well. Both are right up there with India, Western Europe, East Asia, or the Middle East in terms of history, culture, and civilizations. Ok, I'm done with my spiel lol.

The city of Puebla de los Ángeles was for a time the capital of New Spain, and the largest city of the viceroyalty. Also, those cathedrals you see all over Mexico took hundreds of years to build. I know that the Metropolitan Cathedral took at least 300 years to be finished. Poblano people are known to be stuck up, and very proud of their city and traditons. By far it offers one of the richest cuisines of the country. Its most famous dish, mole poblano. Also it has a ceramic industry tradition that is hundreds of years old, that is why you see lots ot tiles in its buildings. This is a traditon imported from Southern Spain. You see this too in Portugal.
@kinetickennons

Kinetic Kennons, you won't probably tell as a visitor. Only if you move in. I heard stories from other Mexicans who have moved in, that is hard to adapt because poblanos keep to themselves. Maybe as a foreigner, they might treat you differently.

It makes sense that some architecture in México may seem French. We have some history between France and México. Ask someone about “Primera intervención francesa“ or “Guerra de los Pasteles“. And France had a lot of influence in México during the Porfiriato. Also, Porfirio Díaz had an obsession for France architecture.

AH1 SUNNY PUEBLA! SO GREAT! If you want to explore a little outside the historical center, I would recommend Angelopolis where it's very modern and some interesting things are happening (Kind of like their version of Santa Fe, but way more pedestrian friendly and they have their version of the London Eye). I would explore the Avenida Juarez, which is kind of like their Avenida Reforma and they have excellent nightlife and food (May I recommend Moyuelo, my favourite restaurant in the city of Puebla! Best Cemitas ever, a little more upscale than your typical street food but it's nice to compare! It's not pricey at all either, and the ingredients are top notch, they also have cheeses from the nearby Italian colony of Chipilo which are a national treasure!) and the architecture is pretty cool there, it also kind of turns into their Zona Rosa. El Mercado de los Sapos neighborhood is beautiful as is the Barrio del Artista (Artist Quarter), both centrally located and very bohemian. The reason Puebla looks a bit distinct from Mexico City or any other Mexican City is that Puebla was (is still) a very important city on the route between Veracruz and Mexico City so many people arrived from France, Spain, Lebanon, Italy, Britain and Germany (This last one to this date actually because of Volkswagen) and they put their architectural imprint in the city where you can find very French style buildings, as well as Arabesque buildings and even German Maypoles randomply scattered around (Puebla has the largest Oktoberfest in Mexico I believe?). This is also evident in their gastronomy, in my opinion being the best in Mexico (Baja California and Oaxaca being next in that order, to me). They're very proud of this, as of course of their very strong and evident indigenous roots, where you can find many towns around Puebla still retain their ancestral ways of life and languages and dialects intact over the centuries. Which it all adds to the cultural and ethnic mosaic that is Mexico (Like the USA's version of our "Melting Pot" or Canada's Salad Bowl...but I think Canadians also use mosaic?). Keep exploring beautiful Puebla! Just making me nostalgic of my trips there! Thanks for the great videos!

Yes, the architecture in Puebla’s historic downtown is French architecture, this is mostly due to the second French intervention, the French- Mexican war, the most important battle took place in Puebla on May 5th 1862, despite Mexico won the battle, the French won the war and they were able to established in Mexico with the complicity of the Mexican Conservative party that were eager to overthrow the liberal president Benito Juárez so they authorized that Napoleon III designated an emperor Maximilian of Habsburg, as emperor of Mexico and his residence was the Chapultepec Castle. You guys should watch this movie about the battle of Puebla. Here’s the trailer with English subtitles kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJmodHuvnNprmsk

Since you are in Puebla you must go to the fort where the battle of Puebla took place. This was the battle where the farmers drove out the French on the 5th of May. Visit the museum. Also, you have to go to the ceremic district because Puebla is known for its ceremic tiles and dishes. You have to eat the mole that originated there. It is best served with chicken and rice. Go to Angelopolis and ride the ferris wheel for the view. There are many great walking trails around the city. Many cultural sites. Visit the library near the Zocolo. Of course you can experience the mercado and the fayuca like the locals. So many places to go and see. Enjoy your time.

I recommend a visit to Talavera De La Reyna, a traditional Puebla earthenware workshop and gallery. They give a great guided visit of their workshop where you see the full traditional process of making talavera. Your hotel may be able to set that up for you.

Idk if it was mentioned already but visit the small city, Chipilo! Italians immigrated there & still speak the old Venetian dialect. They’re know for the cheese! Pretty neat.

Thank you for answering, this is the first time I get an answer. Love you guys Huera and Goyo so much, you were in my town Guadalajara. You guys didn't go to a Chivas game. Something I found out is that a rivalry is growing between Guadalajara and Tijuana and that's because Guadalajara has all national born players and Tijuana recruits many Americans born players do to the fact that's next to the boarder, and MLS Don't believe in Hispanic Americans ( personal opinion).... Two of my favorite teams in Liga MX.. My MLS team is Galaxy, i was at the inauguration in Pasadena in "95" when it was introduced but now with the new LAFC coming up is hard. Well luv you guys see you in LA when ever. Su amigo in L.A....
