I put this record on when I'm sad. Every time. I close my eyes as I run at the gym and Invision myself running through the forest, feeling the moss and damp air, hearing the branches brush and snap. I definitely fall into a meditation state. This album is so damn powerful and my connection to it is eternal.

I’m not really compelled often to comment on videos, but I cannot ignore how this album, upon more and more subsequent listens, exudes a certain beauty underneath that is only appreciated if you take the time to endure its abrasion. I’d wager this is one of my favorite metal albums of all time, if not one of my favorite works of music in general.

For me this one is best for deep thinking and reflection on my depression. The album I use to cry is Austere To lay like old ashes. This Dreadful Emptiness gets me every time. It's the song that saved me from pulling the trigger on a shot gun I had ready to go. The last second before I pulled that song came on. I'm still alive because of it and I'll be forever grateful to Austere for the masterpiece

Just realized this, is this video pitched up? I have the album on vinyl and was listening to it at 33rpm (as intended for the size of the record), but it didn't sound like this video until I sped it up to 45rpm 🤔 *Update:* Figured it out, and the record is indeed a 12" 45rpm.
