Grisaia No Rakuen Episode 3 - English Sub Part Two

The story picks up immediately after the events of Grisaia no Meikyuu, with Kazami Yuuji having been detained for suspected involvement with an international terrorist organization, lead by Heath Oslo, that has managed to enter Japan's borders with a devastating new weapon of mass destruction in hand. Meanwhile, at Mihama Academy, the remaining students find themselves with time running out. Due to financial issues, the school is set to close within the month. Over the past year, though, the girls of Mihama have finally begun to find their own legs, thanks to Yuuji's involvement. Are they really just going to bury their heads in the sand and let the world change around them? And are they really willing to let the man who changed their lives slip away without so much as trying to win him back? As the end of their time at Mihama Academy approaches, Amane, Makina, Sachi, Yumiko, and Michiru find themselves arriving at a single conclusion.
How much a group of students can do in the face of countries and organizations far bigger than any individual could hope to be remains to be seen. In the first place, Yuuji's position is far more complicated than any of them could have imagined, as he finds himself embroiled in an elaborate game of super-political chess revolving around both himself and an inconceivable new system slumbering in the depths of CIRS-a system that Yuuji may have more of a connection to than he thinks. One thing is for certain, though-the girls of Mihama are no longer willing to let the world steal things away from them without at least a bit of resistance first. And with help from a mysterious individual known only as Thanatos, they may just achieve their goal...

first up one BIG OLE spoiler warning, Not exactly. Yuuji was raised as an assassin from about the age 7 or 8. eventually he was rescued by the woman he calls Master (Asako). as you can imagine his morale compass was F'ed up. during his recovery after being rescued Asako gave him a few hypnotic suggestions, one of which was that he could not take a life. in this scene he states he is puking blood. the reason for that are those suggestions fighting with his instinct to fight to survive. the statement his captain makes is a workaround these suggestions ie. I take responsibility (you are not killing them, I am.) and they are not people they are just bad guys in green ( they are not living things.) Later you can see he breaks through these suggestions and that is one of the reasons Asako had him go through combat in the first place, (to learn what he is willing to kill for.)

On a unrelated note I recommend you watch a visual novel play through the anime cut down 120hrs to 9hrs also the characterization is different such as yuuji mental issues being more prominent in vn yuuji can be borderline psychotic jokes more is more sadistic and more hesitant to kill because when he does he loses to madness and can’t stop killing

7:29 Really sets the idea that war can change a person drastically. The mindset that war is fun is a scary concept. Sure games like COD, Battlefield, and Arma are meant to be fun. A way of venting stress by attacking someone online where the only consequences of losing is less points for you and more for the other team. However, real war is way waayy different. Sure some elements may exist in games also exist real combat. But it can take the best of us and degenerate our mentality and morality by leaps and bounds, turning once kind hearted civil people into dogs of war starving for blood and maybe even stoop to hurting or killing people they love.

I completely disagree with that. Warfare doesn't make you a murderer. Warfare is stressful but it doesn't really change you unless you have been so sheltered you have never worked for a goal or fought someone. In warfare you never kill randomly, you are always thinking about tactics in order to survive. In fact, most people who fought a war tend to have a greater sense of morality in my experience because they have actually had to learn to make snap decisions correctly and live with the results. Most of us only know of morals as a hypothetical, rarely do we have to make a real moral decision which is why we tend to freeze when we actually do. It is kind of like prison. If you fuck a guy in prison, prison didn't make you gay, you were gay before you entered prison. Prison was just your excuse to do gay shit. Similarly war doesn't make someone kill people without reason. If someone murders someone after serving, war didn't make them do that, they were fucked up in the head before that. Most people live perfectly normal lives after serving and never killed or even harmed anyone else. Most combat vets who were total killers and effective fighters in service are perfectly normal. You could never tell that they fought a war unless they told you.

It took me a long time to find it, but the song is a Russian lullaby named Спи моя радость усни You may have heard it in The Labyrinth of Grisaia, the soundbite appears when Yuuji first meets Heath Oslo. It seems to be considered a sound effect that loops, rather than a "proper" song, so it won't appear in any OST list (trust me, I'm still looking years later)

Not quite right: to make it quick, even if it loses a lot of meaning, he was raised by a terrorist group since he was young, all he could do was kill people, he was also molested, abused and treated like shit by his parents and stuff, when he got rescued he couldn't even think to do anything else, after some time everytime he kills someone he pukes since it brings him back the memories of when he was younger, his comrade tried to make him get that if he doesn't kill the enemies, the enemies will kill his friends, in fact he didn't care to die at all, he hoped to die everytime he got in a gunfight and in the end his comrade just says that he takes responsability for every kill he does, like if he wasn't doing anything, so he wouldn't feel the stress, even so his memories comes back, you can clearly see that after the 9 kills he got ordered he just want to go for a kill spree with the kinfe. Btw this is explained really poorly, the story is way deeper and awesome, guaranteed
