lol also Chambers last speech inspired me, thumbs up if it inspired you too, "By helping you achieving results, i fulfill my purpose of existence. All of this sea and sky will surely give you possibilities. Survive. Explore. i expect great achievements from your life... he needs no support. There is no more room for more enlightenment. Now, after i eliminate the barrier that blocks his road ahead, my mission will be completed... Response to your final warning: Go to hell, Tin can!!!" -Chamber Chamber may have been a man-made machine, but he truly had a human soul! I don't think a mere machine would of done, and said what Chamber had said. Chamber was one of the most inspiring/Deep anime character's in the entire anime! I wish i had him xD

and Chambers is voiced by the one and only TOMOKAZU SUGITA (Kyon & Gintama).
Chamber is the best realization of the humanizing aspect of logic. Rather, how a logical way of thinking can be used to be humane. Stryker represents the cold inhumane aspect of mechanical logic we tend to associate with robots, but Chamber exploits it to be MORE humane without once being emotional, when that's usually the case for the mechanical AI to be more humane. That's Gen Urobuchi's writing for you!

An AI that follows orders vs. an AI that understands orders.
I love that moment of silence from 0.43 to 0.46. You can imagine his FEELINGS in the last, most important decision he has take, the decision which elevates him to a conscience, not a mere IA without "soul".

It's like if Iron Giant and Terminator 2 had a baby. He chose who he wanted to be and completed his mission in ensuring the future of the life he was assigned to protect.

Born as cold thinking AI support system, he died as human. They litteraly show us in this battle how Chamber was look at the start and what he became. Love that moments with "Even item or AI can have a human soul".
i've waited for each episode impatiently back then.

at the last scene, Chamber changed its first person pronoun from "touki"(this plane/machine.) to "watashi"(I), and also changed second person pronoun for Ledo from "kikan"(means "you" but for military personnel) to "anata"(very human way to call second person).

Some say Chamber is unnecessary now that Ledo has "graduated" and found his place in the world. I call bollocks for several reasons. One. This story isn't only a metaphor for a single character growing up or otherwise adapting to life in different, but friendly circumstances. It raises fairly hard questions about the path mankind has to choose and the sacrifices that should or should not be made to preserve itself in the future, and as such, it can't afford to discard the bigger picture just because Ledo is fine now. Two. The Galactic Alliance / Hideauze conflict remains unresolved. It's quite obvious that there's an entire potential plot hinging on Earth humans and whalesquids playing a potential role in ending this thousand-year war. But to have a say in the matter, they need something capable of equivalent stopping power. Three. The status quo on the Gargantia is unsustainable. Ships do tend to rust and fall apart, and Earth humans seem to not have much in the way of manufacturing capability. All their tech is salvaged. They need a significant technological advancement in order to either lower planetary water levels, colonize the sea floor, or migrate into space. An AI is beyond irreplaceable in this regard. Four. It's one of the most important aesops in the story: a person always has a way to contribute and be appreciated in turn, and shouldn't be discarded just because its "purpose" is fulfilled. Chamber is definitely a person by the end of the series. Arguably, it could've been a good idea for Ledo to iterate on that and avoid his sacrifice altogether. In short, the sequel might be in development hell, but should it ever see the light of day, they'd better bring Brobot back.

+Reirainsong I'll liken the ending of this to the ending of You don't mess with the Zohan. Sure, there are some conflicts of people relating to us thousands of miles away (or in this case, thousands of light years), but what's important is us finding peace here. Now. Why do we even have to fight? Everything die. Us, Earth, the Sun, the Universe, even space and time itself. Everything that begins has an end. So why do we care so much about the ultimate end? Life the end of human/Hideauze conflict? How about we find joys in the little moments. Life is not about how many breaths you take, but how many that is taken away. That seems to be the message of this show. This is show is much better than the other mecha show that Gen Urobuchi wrote, Aldnoah Zero, which was an abomination. Horrible writings, horrible directing, horrible, flat characters, and a saccharine sweet ending.
@VT-mw2zb8 жыл бұрын
***** It turned out that no, Gen wrote the whole thing. He agreed with publishing the story that no, no he only wrote the first 3 eps because he was sick of people hating him for writing shit characters.

It's been a decade now and I have graduated from University. Got me some work experience and now I am bound to work overseas (Maldives) and since it's mostly water, and islands, it kind-of reminded me of Gagantia lol. Anyway, I hope we could eventually have a Chambro-like AI. By the looks of it, it's getting more and more possible as years go by. AI is becoming more human-like, more intelligent, more sentinient compared to what we had back then, Simsimi. Once we can finally own a robot assistant I will definitely name mine Chamber in respect of this anime
And yet neither can compare to Chambers sheer manliness and humanity.
