GRIT | Early Season Buck in AG Country (Public Land) | SZN 1 Ep. 1

We have a whole new respect for all of you hunting content creators out there. Filming a hunt is incredibly difficult.
When you watch this episode of GRIT you're going to see a lot of firsts:
Our first time being filmed on a hunt (apologies in advance for any awkwardness lol),
Our first time hunting this early in the season,
Our first time hunting west of the Mississippi,
Our first time bringing a trad bow into the field,
and our first time working with some amazing new team members.
Saying we were out of our comfort zone is an understatement. But, as most of you know, as public land, run and gun, mobile hunters, we are used to being in unfamiliar places. Ironically, I think being out of our comfort zone as hunters is where we are most comfortable. However, we can't say the same for being on camera.
Our on-camera skills need some work, but the people behind the camera and those responsible for the edit are impressive to say the least. They were thrown into the fire and embraced it. Their first day on the job was hundreds of miles from home at a campsite in the middle of nowhere. They were up early and went to bed late after chasing the chaos that is our mobile hunting style. It was 97 degrees, so dry it was hard to swallow, and tick extraction quickly became part of the nightly routine.

I’m 59 and this year we have a daughter getting married on the first day of rifle season I said I can miss the opener because I’ve got enough under my belt but her brothers that isn’t setting too good. Excellent job of getting one down going in blind ✌🏻👍🇺🇸

After seeing the preview, I was excited to watch this first episode of the grit. Congrats on the nice velvet buck. In the future it would be nice to see some longer videos with a little more depth and detail from you guys. It feels like everything is being rushed. We have zero problem sitting down watching a 20 to 30 minute video of a beautiful whitetail being taken. Keep on with the content and good luck to the whole crew this upcoming season.

@@latitudeoutdoors I feel the same as fishinfool. There is no shortage of filmed hunts with catchy music and whisper talking from the stand that is soooo hard to hear. Show the map (hide your exact location), show the wind, educate. Your hunt recaps from last year are perfect examples. Keep the artsy fartsy stuff, show the nuts a bolts, show the X's and O's. Your audience is hunters not some academy of film critics, although I'm sure other "creators" will like the the camera work and other technical filming aspects and comment accordingly. Most hunters don't care about all that. We just want to learn how to be better hunters!

Hey Alex, you probably don’t remember a conversation we had 2 years ago. I had accidentally been sent 2 saddles and you let me keep them both. From there I have killed my first deer with a bow I have had really close encounters with multiple giants and this year I’m going for the big one. I’ve been granted permission on over 400 acres while also hunting local public game areas hiking a mile into deep woods. All while hanging in the best saddle so thanks guys love the vid and keep inspiring.!!

I have a huge question. Has anyone set all day in this saddle? I have a competitors saddle and had a lot of all day sits this year and after every all day sit I would stand at the bottom of the tree waiting for my legs to wake up and would walk with a limp for days. Is this saddle comfortable for all day?

Great footage, but that walking shot was highly unethical. Don’t get too caught up in needing to get kills on camera. Every episode doesn’t need to have shots fired. Keep up the good work, just do it for the right reasons!
