Loved your analysis. You’re right in that her vocal performance on this is full of texture and personality. She never disappoints in that sense, always giving 110% on the vocal. And even if I’m not totally in love with the particular tune of this song, I know the full album is gonna slap.
@2FullMoons20 күн бұрын
And if I say this is her best vocal performance in any of her pop songs?…. I would be right! She sound phenomenal, she has mastered her instrument, everything she does is so intentional and well thought out, she is in complete control. We are truly witnessing her peaking vocally, creatively and artistically, this album is going to blow our minds. Disease is one of her best pop songs ever and her best pop vocal delivery yet!

I’ve always wanted her to dabble further into rock/metal sounds. She can obviously growl/scream. This song gives me a little more NIN so I’m here for it. Also pretty sure the song playing on the radio in the middle of the video is a new unreleased song from her upcoming album.
@keanamiller-wood410119 күн бұрын
Gag has taken enough for everybody now you want to make her Jesse Kramer!Growl scream is Jesse Kramer's thing!Now you want to give Jesse's growl scream to an old @ss f*ckin whatever it is!!!It's enough that old gag is fully Jann in this video and Ziggy Krassenberg in her previous song now you still want to give it Jesse's new singing style!!!I bet you that you were one of those people who hated Jesse and his growl scream!I bet you that you are also one of the people who hated Ziggy Krassenberg and Jann.Jann complained that for the music video for his song Gladiator they made him look different with makeup!Its so that he could look more like old gag so that gag can take over Jann's persona!This song "disease" sounds like all of Jann's music!I don't see a similarity between Gag and Nine inch nails music.Is the similarity that they are both Jews?

The opening line -- when she is on the car -- has two voices, the voice of her on the car, and the dark voice of the figure in the car. And these two voices -- the one you can hear and the dark one that shadows it. I think that is the thesis of the song -- her and her "demons".

Love a song in Phrygian dominant (which seems to be what this song is mostly in). There's so much more interesting songwriting going on in pop right now than there was in the 2010s. BTW, I'm guessing that double in the low octave is achieved with a pitch shifter. I'm not saying she couldn't sing that low. But it's super common on pop tracks for mix engineers to thicken up the lead with a low octave using Little Alter Boy or something. I will say that on the prechorus (the "screaming for me baby" part), it did sound like a second male singer.

Gaga's new single »Disease« dives deep into dark, theatrical themes, mixing heavy electro-pop sounds with vivid, haunting imagery. The track feels like a reimagined version of her 2017 hit »The Cure« with her »healing« role twisted through a darker, seductive lens that hints at a relationship with power and control. It's all about illness and redemption, as she sings of being able to »heal« her listeners, but with an ominous tone that makes her role both alluring and intimidating. Praised as one of her boldest steps since playing Harley Quinn in Joker: Folie à Deux, the track contrasts its dark atmosphere with wilder energy, making it a standout in her catalog. Musically »Disease« channels her Born This Way Era - with complex synthesizers and a maximalist production style that makes it a defining moment in her discography 🤘🏻
