OHC mod motors don't fit in lots of stuff that has shock towers! It's not GM's fault that Ford shunned pushrod V8 development for +-25 years!

As a die hard GM guy I say let the haters hate. The way Chad explains it makes perfect sense....dollars per HP , and the potential of these Godzilla engines have to be respected by anyone that's a gear head. I have a job coming up putting one in a Fairlane , so I'm stoked to see Chad do one , because I know he will detail things along the installation process that will help me out too.

Not a lot of these motors available to buy and the price is still a little steep. While they will never be as popular as the LS/LT I think they will continue to grow in popularity and acceptance as a generic engine like the LS has.

I've been a Ford guy most of my life. That saying, I have drove and loved my 69 Chevelle SS 396 425 hp and 74 Nova with 350. I'm currently building a 68 Chevelle Malibu with a Summit racing 350 420 hp. My car was a 65 Mustang 289. I have loved sports cars until we had kids. Just bought our 4th Escape. This one is the hybrid and I'm looking forward it serving us as well as all of the others. Only have had 3 Ford trucks, 86 Ranger, 2003 F 250 6 L diesel, and 2020 F 150 ecoboost 6. While I've never been a Mopar guy, we all have our preferences. If what you drive works and does what you need, drive it and enjoy it! I hope you will find your Ford engine gives you preforms for your needs! Love you channel!

I had planned to swap a 12 valve Cummings into my 88 Ford 3/4ton 4X4 but with diesel prices and a change of mission for the truck I'll be trashing the 460 and I'm looking for a smaller engine. I'm going after mileage, longevity and easier maintenance. I know this puts me into the ODD ball realm, but I seriously just want reliability. I find it amazing how some people do things the most awkward or sketchy way possible, the engine was in a box on a pallet you have a fork lift essentially but instead of just lifting the box & pallet and safely taking it across the yard, you unpack it remove all it's protection then hang it from a dubious looking chain so it swings and bounces around risking it being damaged, crazy.

If you have the engine secure on a pallet, use the forks to carry the pallet where you are going. Keeping the pallet a foot of the ground will make sure the engine is not damaged if dropped. I was holding my breath when you where driving the tractor with the engine hanging in chains. There is so little room for failure without consequences when its hanging, so try to minimize it! Stay safe

Monday morning the Ford was off for another weld job only with a GM 350/350 under the hood…all thanks to a bell housing and a few other parts off of a AMC so the GM would bolt up to the C6 transmission

Given some of the problems that oem ford truck owners have experienced with that engine (not a hater - just what I hear), I am curious to see how much your changes to a Holly system and improved cam helps the reliability. These modern computer controlled motors may start better in the winter but man they introduce a ton of problems as well. So excited to see what Chad and the team can accomplish!
@chadsfab
@chadsfab Жыл бұрын
There has been relatively few issues with the Godzilla. There was the cam/lifter failure that only seemed to affect a small percentage of trucks that was blown waayy out of proportion and there has been isolated outright engine failures but nothing I would consider out of the ordinary. The Holley system is mostly to simplify installation and ease future tuning. All of the electronics have proven to be extremely reliable and not even something I ever worry about.

I have never understood why for decades people would think it is acceptable to put a Chevy in anything else (Ford, Dodge, Plymouth, International, Jeep, etc). But to put a Ford in a Chevy is the worst thing anyone could do on earth. I think it is great that Chad is doing this and explained why which is very logical. Let the haters complain all they want. Chad is building his truck to meet his expectations, not for other people’s expectations. Keep up the great work.
