Thank you for your comments, Daniel. From what I have been told, Grizabella was a very popular cat in the tribe when she was younger. All the other cats wanted to be like her and they looked up to her. Apparently (and this could be an interpretation, but it is what I’ve been told), Griz had a brief relationship with Macavity and that caused the tribe to turn their backs on her. When she tried to return to the tribe after her transgressions, she was shunned. It is only when Victoria, the youngest and most innocent cat, empathizes with Griz and is bold enough to welcome her back that we see their admiration for her ... for who she used to be, where she’s been, and what she’s overcome. T.S. Elliott’s book of practical cats has all of the cats and their poems - which are the lyrics to the songs in the show. Grizabella is not in the book because her story was too dark for children. However, when Andrew Lloyd Webber decided to record an album of these poems for children, it was Mrs. Elliott who found the drafts of Grizabella that her husband had started, and offered them to Mr. Webber. It was then that they could see a through line that would tie all of these poems together. Memory is the only song/lyric that was not written by T.S. Elliott, and in fact was a last minute composition by the creative team. Funny how that song has made the show what it is and it is fitting that Grizabella and Memory have given the show depth. The show is difficult for some to follow, but once you know who all the cats are, how they are related, and how symbolic these poems and songs are, it can really touch your heart. We all know someone who is like one of these cats. This was the idea when they created the show. They wanted the audience to recognize their cat in these cats, but also to recognize someone they know in them too! 🥰

i used to sing Memory from Cats at the Seamans Neck Middle School Talent Show in 2004 , if Andrew Lloyd Webber brings Cats back , is possible if he cast my friend from church - Denise Spinos as Grizabella the Glamour Cat

I can relate to Grizabella because I too was like her because of my disability , I was picked on because I was different from others, Grizabella must be very sad when they ostracized her because of the way she looks , why are they so mean to her in cats and not to Macavity

i have a friend from my old church from Word of Life Ministries in freeport named Denise Spinos who is interested in playing the role of Grizabella , is it possible if Andrew Lloyd Webber brings it back for 9 years , is it alright she was cast for the role first before other women can play her

isn't Grizabella - Munkustrap , Rum Tum Tugger , Rumpus Cat and Macavity's mother , how did she get from young to old and why did the other cats hate her

They didn’t explain why Grizabella was part of the tribe , why did she leave and why did they not welcome her back and why did the tribe hate Macavity - why does the tribe not like Macavity and Grizabella that much

did Grizabella ever regret her mistakes that she made with her 2 sons and that as she gotten old and dilapidated , did she feel sorry for what she did to the tribe . what was the difference between Grizabella and Macavity and why did they chose to go to different paths
