Just got this saw and it's been sitting in the floor because there was no way I was going to be able to lift it onto the stand. After hearing you say that you lifted it yourself I did some rethinking and thought if a 30+/- guy can lift this saw alone why couldn't two 60+/- guys do the same. Well it worked and I am back in business. Thanks for the inspiration. Old guys rule!!!!

Dave - When I got mine I was wondering about lifting it by myself as well. But it can be done with a 60+ guy, my 50+ wife and my 30 year old daughter with no problems :) Love my Grizzly!
@crumbocrumbo68146 жыл бұрын
@@dfranks50 this 60+guy screwed a brace to the floor joists wrapped a chain around it then jacked it up to chair height with a come along. From there I was able to slide it on to the stand. Made my first cut today now I'm tearing apart my shop to give it a permanent home.

I was planning to install the riser block kit, so I removed the top arm while it was still in the box and set it aside. I then carefully stood up the box it came in and carefully walked the lower half of the saw with the motor attached out of the box and then lifted that onto the stand. When it came time to bolt it to the stand, I ran the bolt with a flat washer up from under the stand and then placed a flat washer, a lock washer and a nut on it from the top. It seemed easier than trying to stack the washers and nut onto the bolt from underneath. I'm 67. Something I noticed was that if I inserted the table lock pin in too far, the slot between the front and rear half of the table would visually expand, causing the fence to bind.

At what point do you switch from the 10-inch bandsaw to the hefty 14-inch. Is cutting 2-ft and 3-ft hardwood something you need your upgraded bandsaw or could that be handled with the 10-inch. Also, does the number of boards factor in as well? Do you start off with the 10-inch or is the level of difficulty the same for both?
@AnthonyScolaro1Ай бұрын
@@CrossoverManiac I have a video where I installed a riser block on this bandsaw to go from a 10” to a 14” resaw capacity. This allows you to start off with a 10” bandsaw if you’re not resawing wide boards. Then later if you need to upgrade, you don’t have to buy a whole new and more expensive saw.

I still have it and it still performs well. I added the extension block to increase resaw capacity. I have a video on that. I use the saw a lot but not as much as someone who does extensive resawing and curve cuts, so it’s perfect for me but I can’t say how it would hold up in an industrial shop where its put through the ringer day in and day out.

How does your G0555LX band saw not vibrate like crazy? I just got mine two days ago and it vibrates pretty bad. All stand and mounting bolts are tight. Can’t even pass a nickel test.
@AnthonyScolaro14 жыл бұрын
Lyric Klein check your wheels for alignment. If they’re out, you’ll get major vibration. You mace have to adjust them, also make sure your blade is tensioned correctly, and tracking right on the wheels. Then check and adjust your bearings last.
@lyric.kayden4 жыл бұрын
Anthony Scolaro hi, thanks for the quick reply, appreciate it. I checked alignment, tension and bearings and everything was great. Lastly I took the blade off and checked the wheels for balance. I was easily and quickly able to see the top wheel was not balanced. I marked the wheel where it stopped when I would spin it and every time I’d spin it it would stop in the same spot. Which obviously showed the wheel was not balanced. I contacted Grizzly and let them know everything I had done to remedy and quickly they said it was the top wheel not balanced. Right away without hesitation are mailing me a new wheel and tire for the top. I gotta say Grizzly was so excellent with the Customer Service and Tech Support. So friendly, helpful and just right on it. Great great.

Anthony Scolaro so I’ve gone over everything I can and I got rid of a little bit of the vibration. Question, when you shut off your bandsaw does it vibrate for a little bit when it starts to slow down, not the whole time but just a small bit? Thanks

Question for ya again lol. So once you apply your tension with the tension lever are you able to adjust a little with the tension knob at the top, while you have the tension lever engaged? If I have my tension lever engaged no matter the amount of tension I set it at, I cannot make the slightest adjustments with the tension knob. I feel like I should be able to make small adjustments with the tension knob with the tension lever engaged. Thoughts? I guess I’ll be calling Grizzly Tech Support again tomorrow but any thoughts? Thanks
@AnthonyScolaro14 жыл бұрын
Lyric Klein try pre-tensioning some more without the lever engaged, it might be a little harder to engage the lever afterward but it should give you more tension on the blade

Anthony Scolaro just got off the phone with Grizzly a bit ago and I think we got it remedied. The Tech Support at Grizzly had me use lubricant oil to oil the spring and tensioning rod. The Tech Support agent asked what penetrating oil I had, which I had WD-40, Liquid Wrench and PB Blaster. He recommended using the PB Blaster. He said under full tension to oil the spring and tension rod. Next to remove tension and work the tension rod up and down the tensioner. Next he said lower the tension really low and apply more oil. He said let it sit for 15-20 minutes which should remedy the issue. He said at times the rod in the tensioner and spring both get dry and it makes it super hard to make adjustments while under tension. Now I’m able to apply full tension properly and make adjustments to the tensioner while under full tension. Just wanted to help pass this information along to you or anyone who may have this issue in the future and need help. Btw I am curious if some type of thicker lubricant can be used to provide continuous lubricant so it doesn’t dry out so quickly or as quickly. Thanks Anthony and take care

What was wrong with the Wen 10" Bandsaw w/ 6" resaw capabilities?
@AnthonyScolaro16 жыл бұрын
HKGuy Snowman#1 I needed more of a throat opening, this is 14”, I needed more power for the work I do and as far as resaw capability, the grizzly takes up to a 3/4” wide blade which makes that process much easier, smoother and quicker.

Wood And Screw honestly I liked the WEN BANDSAW but I had a unique opportunity to acquire this 14" grizzly for a barder build. Is this normal for this model or is it something you've corrected since the video was made?
