Grizzly 14" Bandsaw riser block kit + tire replacement

I have been wanting to upgrade my 14" grizzly bandsaw with the riser kit so that I can resaw wider pieces of wood. I already had nice blades that I didn't want to replace so I put off the upgrade. That was until I ruined the blade and tires by cutting painters tape on the bandsaw! When life gives you lemons, upgrade your bandsaw?

When i installed my riser, i slid the bolt in from the bottom, proping it up with a piece wood wedged in. Then i lifted the top half onto the riser nlock, dropped a washer on and tightened the nut enoug so the top half couldnt fall off the riser block

Thanks for sharing! I just bought the riser and tires for my grizzly. I appreciate you including what didn’t work too! (Cord hole on wrong side, difficulty installing tires etc)

Would have been nice to see you make a few resaw cuts. I been thinking about getting the riser, but I have heard that it may cause minor vibration which cause a poor (not clean) cut. Also read that the 1hp motor is not enough to resaw wider boards, especially hardwood. Would like to know how it has worked out for you. Thanks

I replaced both, just didn’t show it! Same process.

@@fowlerfinefurniture Way different process! Removing the bottom tire involves removing the V belt. I just used tie wraps and did it in place.

@@harryhagelund7674 I don't remember exactly but I don't think I removed the belt, I show myself putting the bottom wheel back on, sorry I wasn't more helpful!
