While out in the Yukon's backcountry, I had an incredible experience witnessing a grizzly bear sow chasing a dozen goats along a cliff face. For over ten minutes the bear was on a tear after these goats, at one point getting within just 10 or 15 yards of a group of goats.

I have seen black bears in the Coast Range, near Juneau, stalking mountain goat Kids in the spring time. In that area the brown (grizzly) bears control the salmon streams in the lowlands, so black bears are forced to work harder for protein. The bears I observed hunting were relying on stealth, but this sow here hasn't learned that lesson, yet! Great footage of this encounter!

This is amazing. The power and agility of both sets of animals to run up, along and down the cliff face. That's like running up and down a massive ladder at breakneck speed. I'm amazed by the natural drive to endure and survive. I'm just shaking my head. Thank you for sharing this. I'm sure it can never compare to being their firsthand. But still amazing.
