Sliding saws are so much better than just normal table saws.

Is this one is a good sliding table saw?

I love this saw! I've been putting off buying one for years now, but I believe it would improve both safety and efficiency. One question, can you rip a full 8ft piece of plywood with this saw? Or crosscut a 48in piece, for that matter?

Hey Scott, You can't rip a full 8' sheet on this unfortunately. You can however cross cut a 48" piece. However, trying to cross cut a full sheet of plywood is difficult as there isn't enough support far out from the saw, so the sheet wants to dip/lift/twist. What I do is make a single cut with my track saw to break down the sheet to a rough cut, and then use the Grizzly to break it down from there.

Buy a 10’ Felder instead!

wanted to update this. You can both crosscut and rip cut a full 4x8. Just have to take off the crosscut fence. Once I realized this, I have saved a lot of time breaking down panels, its great!

@@JesseFFT How do you rip 8’ long ply in one stroke pass? Slider isn’t long enough. Also the ZCI, on the end of the cross cut fence should just be touching the blade. You should initially set it past blade location and make a cut through it to set the zero clearance point.

Thank you for sharing this video 👍one question. Were you able to align the scoring blade With the main blade?
@JesseFFT2 жыл бұрын
Yup. There's an easily accessible Allen screw that is accessed from the top of the saw, just next to the scoring blade

Ok thank you. Because I'm thinking to buy one of these machines Mostly for the scoring blade.

Thanks for the review. I'm very torn between this and a SawStop PCS with the sliding table, did you happen to cross-shop those? This Grizzly has been on my radar for years, but I've also grown fond of my fingers....

hi Kenton, I didn't really bother looking at the Saw Stop as the sliding table system doesn't seem to really compare to this dedicated slider from my past experience with the SS. The nice thing with this saw is that I can secure the wood down onto the slider with the miter slots and be 3' from the blade when making the cut if need be.

Hi does it have a separate motor for the scoring blade? Or is the scoring blade always a spinning?
@JesseFFT Жыл бұрын
Hi. The scoring blade is belt driven from the main motor. It's relatively easy to remove/reinstall so you can absolutely remove power to it.

Thanks for this view…Bad ass piece of equipment you have there! I’m trying to wrap my head around the size and if parts can tuck away when cutting smaller pieces. Any thoughts on this? I have a 20 x 30 workspace. I haven’t decided if this is something that would work better against the wall of in the middle. Since you have the machine any suggestions you have would help.

My shop is 20' x 40', you'll have plenty of room. My saw is placed so that I can put up the garage door to bring in material and the saw is right there to break it down. It's also set about 6' from the wall on my right, giving me more space for larger crosscuts on the left. Given that you also have 20', I think you'll find it fits nicely in that area.
