This is easily their most profound tune since Ready, Able. Already listened to it a 1000x. I was afraid for this last album as I thought Shields was mediocre in the shadow of Veckatamest. I've been listening to them since they launched on myspace. Probably not something mentioned in polite conversation anymore.

this brings me back to the Veckatimest vibes, the only difference I can point out is that the drummer seems more developed and complex, even though I have liked him before too..it's just that the rhythm section is even better than usually on this album, 3 Rings is another example for me.

I'm just sitting here trying to figure out why I teared up during this. Grizzly Bear always uses the most haunting chord-progressions, I can't even describe the emotions they evoke in me. The Video played a role too. I get the sense of lovers becoming strangers because they know each other too well. They become like tame household objects to each. Just the line "We'll watch our bodies break" over that insane chorus instrumental with the visuals. Chills and goosebumps like I got as a teenager. Amazing work, Grizzly Bear.

@chadlyfromcharlotte42984 жыл бұрын
Really awesome video. The zoom is very effective. What I got that the video was trying to say is that we are all wild and beautiful, creative creatures, however eventually we become domesticated and we lose that wildness but try to hang on to that creative spark. And then, we have a child who is wild and creative and beautiful, but we domesticate them, and then in the end, with all our creativity and wildness snuffed out by domestic life, we become as boring and safe as the wallpaper that surrounds us.

Beautiful song and video. Allowing music and video to be interpreted differently, results in an experience that means much more to those who choose to open their minds. To me the video speaks to how we have moved away from nature. We have become consumed by owning more, but our possessions end up owning us. Relationships are what's important, not possessions.
