I LOVE SOCK TOO. My husband knows how much I want to gift them to all my family but it takes a lot of time. He bought me the Speedster by Earlbacher Gearhart ...I was saving for one after watching Amber (yarnhoader) and Norageorge yarns. OMG you need to get one. I one afternoon I got tubes done for about 20 vanilla pairs that just need heels and toes and cuffs. I get WAY more WIPS on the needles and more FOs. Shipping to the Yukon was brutal but worth every penny

Because you guys are always trying to not “blow out” your colours, You should try changing your bulbs to LEDs in a 4000K or 5000k (daylight). I just installed 16 in my sewing/craft room and I’m just blown away by the purity of the colours. Just a suggestion ;)

Hi ladies! I didn't get a chance to watch the live stream so I'm watching it now (obviously not live lol). One of the questions that someone asked was about losing their knitting mojo. I went through that not too long ago. I happened upon an article written by someone who is going through that and they suggested starting a knitting bucket list. So on the bucket list you put things that you've always wanted to learn to knit, things that you've always wanted to knit, taking the plunge and knitting something challenging etc. I don't always finish what on my list, but I do add to it from time to time.

In the UK we traditionally have 4ply, DK, Aran and Chunky. It’s only recently I’ve heard of worsted or sport weight.

Long Island Livestock is wonderful! Their lanolin chapstick is amazing. I use it every day. I have watched Tabatha shear sheep. She has a gift.
@johannamcdonald95756 жыл бұрын
The yarn sizes are different everywhere. We have DK in Australia but we call it 8 ply, Aran is 10 ply, worsted is 12 ply. Worsted is a term ALSO used for a style of spinning, as apposed to woollen spinning. I have found it easier to just make a note of the length per 100 grams and forget what it’s called. That will give you an idea of its diameter/size/weight. So for example, when I see 200 metres per 100 grams, I think it’s probably DK aka as Cascade 220. I am a new knitter and have found sizing so confusing till I figured out to forget the name and use the length weight ratio. Life is now much simpler.

Love the episode 💕😘 Not sure if it will help, but if you're having trouble with the lights blowing out your yarn, try pointing them at some plain white poster board (or even your ceiling if it's white) so that the light is reflecting back at you rather than being directly on you. This should help diffuse the light so it isn't so harsh. In any case, you both look beautiful always and I love seeing all your yarny goodies 💕💜❤️

My favorite part of this entire episode was when the two of you were arguing over whether one could house train a goat. It reminded me so much of me and my brother - we can take strong sides and have incredible arguments over something neither of us know much about. It’s a special ability that only siblings have. (Not to say the two of you don’t know much housetraining goats.)

It's like Christmas every time I see that there's a new podcast from you! I have one wish: to see you in higher resolution. I fall into the the live doesn’t work f or me 😕. It’s too distracting and honestly I think it puts the emphasis on the “named elite” knitters rather than embracing the faceless many. I undertand that it is natural to greet your friends as they come on and chat about shared experiences; however, that leaves literally thousands of people out of the conversation no matter when they watch. That being said, you two are very generous with your time and should make the best choices for you. Less editing makes for more knitting time, yes?
