Aldi's in the US in our area has most things in plastic as well although there is the occasional pick your own sections. Looks like they offer more variety of herbs than here and they have pretty good gluten free things although I've never seen any GF lasagna noodles

Becky the reason most of the fruit and veg in aldi and lidl is packaged is because of the time constraints on the checkout operators. If they have to weigh them all and find the barcodes for each item it slows down the queue, which they try not to do, hence them practically throwing the items at you as they scan! Not ideal but that is the reason.

Our local Aldi have loads of fruit and veg loose, must be a regional thing. The lactose free milk is fantastic and you don't need to keep it in the fridge till you open it. Lidl have really nice gluten free pasta.

Love a food haul Becky, I rarely go to Aldi, to be honest I find it so caotic, and messy and I hate that, and the one near me is very small, but allways busy, I know they have a section for Gluten Free but its not much to be honest, I went up to London last week don't go that often and went to Whole Foods in Kensington, oh my goodness, the choice of fresh Gluten Free items was incredible stuff I have never seen anywhere, its a bit pricey but all fresh, the bread well looked so yummy, you look well hope your keeping well, xxx

Haha funny you say that... it was exactly like that when I went!! Sadly, I couldn't find a whole lot of gluten free products in there when I went 😞 But YES! That whole foods is amazing - I wish I could go there every week! (I think it would probably bankrupt me though 😂) Did you go to the food hall in there too? I didn't get to eat there but it looked amazing!! xxx

hi, becky and mark (and ms. peggy) - nice haul. interesting that you have aldi. it's here and there in the u.s. but not close to me at all (like a 3.5 hour drive - not going). however, i do have a lot of aldi envy because people get some very interesting foods. do you have trader joes? you are looking great - how are you feeling? if like me, it is variable. take care! ~k

Another great haul in this video! I cooked the red pesto tuna pasta the other night and turned out great! 🥣😍 Just wondering, have you tried gut hypnotherapy to help with your IBS? I've been using an app for the last week and already feeling a lot better and more confident in my body :) Not sure if I'm alone in trying this!

If you don't have intolerance for gluten and you use free gluten stuff it's worse than anything you can do.

Aldi never have chives it is so annoying!!! They do however have a lot of sneaky things that are gluten free that you wouldn’t expect to be gluten free so you have to read all the labels! Like the crispy m and m alternatives and the cheesy wotsit alternatives! You’d never think they would be gluten free but it is quite time consuming 🤦♀️

I'll have a good look next time - still can't believe the chives... not sure how I'll survive!!! Thanks for the heads up though! x
