I love how when you go out shopping you show us a lot more than what you're purchasing. Most other channels will only show us what they put in their shopping carts. That's one of the reasons I admire you. I'm in my own home most of the time, so I don't have many opportunities to go out shopping. I love window shopping with you! Thank you so much for sharing!

I noticed the chimichurri sauce at the beginning. I don’t know about the one in your store, but the refrigerated version I buy here at Trader Joe’s is delicious! I put it on stir fried , thinly sliced beef, but I imagine it’s good on Amy meat or seafood. Again, can’t speak for the brand in your video, but the first time I tried the one at Trader Joe’s, I was thinking where has this been all my life? 😀

Here summer vacation started this weekend so I'll be having the individual meetings with my daughter's new teacher at the end of August/beginning of September. A bit nerveous because she is starting a new school for the last two years of her elementary school, so everything is new for us. You and your husband went to one of my favourite restaurants for lunch. I just love Ootoya! It's on my list for going back as soon as possible when I'm in Tokyo in a weeks time :) I really like it that you can have different rice portion sizes and white rice or multi grain rice. And the seasonal menu is always fun, though it will be for the first time in about 10 years that I'm in Japan in summer :) It looks like pierced earrings are nowadays very widely available. I remember that like 20 years ago you could not really find them, which was great for me as I don't have pierced ears even now that I'm almost 40. I have found some of my favourite earrings in Tokyo as they have such cute ones for non-pierced ears. My daughter loves citrus sour tastes so I often make a lemonade with fresh citrus and sugar and dillute that with water or sparkling water. You can add more water to have it less sour. You can freeze the concentrate as well, so when I can get fresh lemons on sale I make a lot and freeze it. Though I don't have that much freezer space i somehow manage. I have seen you go to Kaldi so many times, and iI have walked past Kaldi every time I went to my favourite Aeon store but never really looked what they had, as I didn't know the store and as a student I had not the largest budget. I should reall see what they have when I'm back :) At home I love to have those jalapeno slices at hand. Great in fried rice for example. So many veggies for 2000 yen! That is a great price I think, especially with nowadays everything getting so expensive. I never thought about adding potatoes to the rice in the rice cooker. I think it's because here potatoes are like the rice part of the meal (the carb portion) so even though I don't really cook traditional Dutch food, I hardly combine potatoes and rice in one meal 😅apparently traditional ways of cooking go deeper then I thought. You can sprinkle on some chopped basil or shiso on your tomato salad as well. Tomato and shiso go really well together. One of my favourite ways of having tomato in summer is as shira ae, seasoned with nerigoma, and then some shiso on top :) refreshing and delicious.

One of the important mom’s job, meeting with teacher 😅 I understand the potato and rice being both carb in one meal. I can totally agree too. I don’t like Yakisoba in bread, pasta in bento for the same reason. But did it this time😅 potato salad more for me and husband to drink 🍷 the corn rice for the boys 😂

Ciao! Grazie!

Hello my friend Linna, that really was a nice video I enjoyed it so much. I know I'm a little late with my comments but I have been so busy. Next week we have the workmen in again as we are getting several jobs done on the house. Double Glaze windows around the house and also a Patio in the garden. .y husband can't take time off work because it is busy where he works ,so I'm left to deal with them on my own. I dred it Linna I just hope they do a proper job. I don't like workmen they saye they are a master at this trade that trade when in fact they are not a master at anything. So wish me luck on that for the next 3-4 weeks. Its still very humid and hot here but we finally had rain today. I was so pleased. Now we should have a cooler spell after Monday. Can I say that you are a fantastic cook. I'm not that good but I try I suppose. I love the fact that you and you husband go to lunch together very often. That is so sweet and nice ❤. You go to a meeting at the school very often to see how they are getting o. With their lessons. I think that is the sign of a very good school. My husband and I went to get our shopping in today oh. Linna we were so shocked. Our prices have gone through the roof. Apparently we are now the most expensive Country. Some items have gone up 150-200 per cent almost triple for our shop. Also which i suppose is a little better are energy prices are a little cheaper than last month. Not to what they were before the war in Russia. But a little better. I'm washing 3 big blankets next week just in case we need them like last year when it was bitter cold outside. Lol lol. Here I go on my soap box again talking about what is wrong with the world. I feel betternow after that moan ( just kidding ) Linna keep me in your thoughts with the workmen wish me luck . I will write your again very soon. ❤.🎉😊

A general rule of thumb I follow is ¥100 ≈ 1 USD. Its a bit lower at the current date (¥100 = 0.70 USD) but you can still get a general idea just by looking at the price in yen. For example, something that is ¥300 will be just less than $3. Anything over ¥2000 yen starts to get a bit further, as ¥2000 = $13 Basically, take off the last two zeroes from the price in Yen, and the price in USD will always be cheaper

Do you mean the vegetables? That's the only real packaging difference that I see from an American point of view. Most vegetables are sold loose in the US, although some things like pre cut vegetables and pre made salad mixes come in plastic bags or containers. Potatoes generally come packaged in 5, 8, and 10 lb paper bags in grocery stores. There are roll dispensers with bags on them to put the vegetables you choose into if you desire to do so. Meat and fish are packaged the same here. Bottles (both plastic and glass) are used. Egg cartons vary between plastic, cardboard, paper, and Styrofoam. Other than the produce, looks normal to me. God Bless 🥰

In France the veg is hardly ever sold in plastic. Maybe lettuce or some cherry tomatoes but we are not allowed to include plastic in our normal trash and so it all gets recycled. I too am often shocked by the plastic used in the supermarket in the blogs. I love Lina's blogs, she is definitely one of my favourites. ❤
