Grocery shopping at Target right before Christmas.. this was shocking

I live in Canada and my hubby and I find this channel very interesting .and fun to watch . We just sit around in our PJ"s and enjoy a morning coffee while Dan and Jess browse and shop .More people should be watching this channel to help them make consumer conscious decisions on where they could get the best bang for their hard earned buck .

Yesterday, my Kroger and Walmart had full Valentine displays where Christmas had been. And dismantling the tree lot in the parking lot. It was quite sad shopping weekend before Christmas. Meijer on Thursday afternoon was still festive.

Walmart also imported less for the christmas holiday with only 340,000 kilos of crap which may sound high but the year before was 980,000 and the year before that was 1.9 kilos. that is their new way of making money instead of trying to supply everybody they get less and hope it all sells out now.

Most of our stores here are putting out Valentines Day. I remember when Christmas decorations in the stores were kept up until after New Year’s. Now it is put it up in September and take it down before Christmas.

the target i use here and the items we buy are cheaper at target than the walmart across the street from them and i get an additional 5% off at the register for using their card.

Also IF you have the time, scan an item to see if it is on sale, don't go by the wording on the sales sign. IF an item is say 2 for $4 scan one of the other items......like on the soups. At Target when you scan the item, the price shown will be the sale price.

One thing I noticed. The Nutella was a bigger size and it's a brand name product. Another thing is you have to almost take a calculator with you. IMO(this is me talking), I prefer the Kroger Brand over Target's brand(such as Market Pantry).
