the coconut oil is a underrated weight gainer. I used to struggle with gaining weight until I used it more. If you really need to up your calories start mixing coconut oil trough everything (protein shakes, coffee etc.) it doesn't give you a full feeling at all and it packs 900 calories per 100 grams.

Agreed. It's harder for someone who's skinny and probably has a small appetite to bulk with a super clean diet. He's likely to quit if the change is too drastic. He should add as much healthy food to his diet as possible, but not be afraid to have "unhealthy" snacks or fast food when he feels like it. The key to him not getting fat while bulking is tracking his calories and monitoring his body weight.

It's a lean bulk diet so you can gain a lot of muscle mass while still keeping your body fat percentage relatively low. If you're eating shitty sugar filled processed foods or complex carbohydrates, you're going to be fighting to keep fat off instead of putting muscle on.
