My favorite hurricane name would be Franklin, but there was Tropical Storm Franklin in 2005. Besides it being my name, I think Hurricane Franklin would be cool because of Benjamin Franklin's history with lightning. There was a hurricane/typhoon named Tim in 1994. Typhoon Tim sounds pretty awesome!

Here in South Florida we got some rain but not much from the storm formally known as Erika. All we got, besides from some rain storms, was an awesome orange hue in the morning. Like, everything outside was literally orange and it was awesome. South Florida was inside a Sunny D bottle for 2 hours.

Hi Tim and Jen! It's been a busy season here in Hawaii we've already had four hurricanes pass us in August alone, Guillermo, Hilda, Loke and Ignacio and now we have to keep an eye on Jimena. Luckily, none of these storms have hit the islands.

Yes you want to eat the hash browns off the plate not the napkin. The towel is to get the grease out of them. I don't know if bacon grease is the most healthy but my mother used to do it. I love orange and chocolate! MMM good!Glad you all seem to be safe!

Just found this video a year behind everyone else. The hurricane names made me laugh. Why are they often cute names for a ferocious storm? We've recently had Storm Doris in the UK and the name made me giggle inappropriately. Doris sounds like a sweet little old lady with lots of cats, not a storm that ripped off a door and broke a window on our house!

are you sure the camera is suppose to get foggy on the inside of the lens? if it keeps doing that I would think there is a bad seal on the lens. I'm not a camera guy but that seems weird to me. they also have apples that taste like grapes.

I totally enjoyed hearing you 2 talk about hurricane names. I don't know why I found it so hysterically funny. I used to live in Hawaii. I've survived many hurricanes and maybe 3 or 4 tsunami/warnings. It's pretty crazy.

The best Terry's Chocolate has popping candy in it, and you can get a Terry's mint. Jaffa cakes are ace, sponge base, layer of orange then chocolate.. Lots of people on Tripadvisor going to cancel holiday because of hurricane, but everyone from Orlando saying, wait as it might get downgraded, and sure enough.

How hurricane names work is there is a set list with 10 or so names for each letter and when a devastating storm occurs that name is retired and replaced with a different name of the same letter that is why there will never be another Katrina or Sandy,

The camera if fogging up because you are going from the cool (inside) to the warm (outside) fairly quickly. the humidity doesn't help either. Sit the camera in the warm for a few minutes before you start using it :)

last time I was in Florida I was surprised at the amount of international candies you can get at normal stores like Target. in California you can go to world market and find a lot of those things but they are really expensive there.

My best friends name is Andrew.. so this is a semi funny hurricane story about him and his now wife.. His wifes Mom, who was a mean mean lady, her name was Jeannie.. that was the hurricane that hit his house.. can't remember in what order but hurricane Andrew wiped out his mother in law Jeannies house.. then hurricane Charlie (which happens to be his wifes ex husbands name) wiped out part of his house lol. For a couple years it was like they were trying to tear each others houses down with one natural disaster after another lol. Glad the hurricane there fizzled out.

Oh the joy of shopping. I went shopping today for my Grandmother, and I got myself a few things. Some yogurt covered raisins, yum, and a 3 pack of Tofu Miso soup mix, it's so good! I bought rice too, I know what I'm having for breakfast! I really don't know what name I'd give a hurricane. Oh wait yes I do, Joffrey! Well... New Orleans did reinforce the levees to withstand a Category 3 storm, but if there's a category 4 or 5 storm that hits the area... that's another story. And the way that Hurricane naming goes: the names repeat every few years unless the hurricane/tropical storm is deadly (so we'll never see a Hurricane Katrina, Rita, or Sandy ever again). 2005 was the most active year for hurricanes in recorded history, hence why they had to go to the Greek alphabet (they got all the way to Tropical Storm Zeta!)

Hurricane names are recycled every 6 years which explains why you guys have seen the name Victor a few times before. The name Arlene has by far the most appearances; it has appeared 10 times and will appear again in 2017. Unless the storm gains enough strength to cause devestation then the name is retired (ex. Andrew, Katrina, Sandy aka "Frankenstorm"). Also, I think Zinah could be a hurricane name. I once met a woman named Zinah.

Hurricane names are indeed recycled, so Jenn was right - Teresa and Victor have been on the list before, most recently in 2009. (They weren't used that year, though.) There's a list for the Atlantic that's used every six years, a separate list for the northeastern Pacific that's used every six years (Felicia's on that one this year, Jenn!!!!), and another list for the central north Pacific that includes Pacific Islander names.
