She said no she couldn't take it.. i said i am not from here and i have no place to take this too... so i bought it because i wanted just to give it to a well deserving person. Wow, that store is world class! Without doing any detailed analysis of your prices, my quick impression is that, compared to the US prices: your bread is dirt cheap, your pineapples are really expensive, the Lindt chocolate is about the same, and your overall total is probably about the same.
@Wade__Wilson2 жыл бұрын
To be honest - this is an expensive, premium store. Prices in local stores for the same products are lower.
@bhami2 жыл бұрын
The items I've particularly noted here in Salt Lake City, which is comparable to prices in most of the US, over the past year or so: cucumbers have been crazy cheap (often around two for $1), pineapples have been very reasonable (usually $2.50 to $3 each), and avocados (approx. 2/3 from Mexico and 1/3 from California) have been crazy expensive, roughly double what they were a year ago (now often $1.50 each for medium or large). For the past year, bottled water has been in short supply due to a plastic shortage.
@koilamaoh42382 жыл бұрын
Bread is cheap in the US.. mainly reason bread is cheap cause of "cheap" general ap flour they are all based on 1$-2$. This is basically just cheap "carbs"; even the french bread, or bakery which is cheap flour bread, which russians use too. While better quality bread above 3$ like whole grain, like sara lee, wonder kids, has more nutrition(protein, fiber, vita's, cheap bread rarely has this)), a lot more healthier. Your probably looking at the "organic"gluten free, msg free, nature, hipster trend kind, where its like 5$ or more lol.. considering its a rip off to buy and a scam.
@natalyar37182 жыл бұрын
This is the most expensive store in the city. Normally you can find groceries at least 20-30% cheaper at any other chain store. As for pineapples, its regular price at any other store would be 2,5 times less.

Slava’s videos are always in for excellent content both visually and in the wording used. Especially his final comment as to why he published this video filmed at the beginning of the year shows Slava and his beautiful wife are special people who have experienced the world “outside “ Russia while the vast majority of Russians will never see this. Now, is it still appropriate to give a such a compliment to a person in Russia while “Pjotr the Short” and his minions are trying to divide the people in the country into those being all for his dreadful regime or being “traitors”? Anyway, it’s good to see Slava and Lena are continuing to produce excellent content from outside Russia. Let’s hope their exodus will not last too long until they can return to their home country.

My wife and I watched this one too. She was really interested. And she thinks your wife is lovely. And we are in the middle of the Konigsberg/Kalingrad video. Well done as well.

Man I'd love to go shopping with you two. Just to see all the great looking food you guys have. Too bad you can't grocery store graze any more the same thing here I miss it. But that food looks oh so good. Oh here's a greek salad for you. It's made of cucumbers, dill, and what's called tzatziki sauce I love it my step dad makes it from time to time.

I love watching how people all over the world live their daily lives. We are different but have the human experience in common, though it is different from place to place. Lots of people speak English in Russia, it's fairly amazing. I hope you are doing well during this time. Blessings from Chicago ☀️☺️

Actually, I use avocado oil for frying because it has a lighter taste than olive oil and can be used in high heat. I use olive, coconut or MCT oil for things that I cook at a low temperature or for use on salads.

Palm oil is a common cooking oil in my country, Indonesia. Olive is so pricey here, sun flower one is rarely found.

Thank you for sharing! That's a nice grocery store! Here in Canada I use either Avocado oil or Coconut oil for cooking at high temperatures (Coconut mostly for dessert). I love olive oil in salads. I really love your content! I too hope and pray for peace... Take care and stay safe!

Man, $100 for not that much stuff. That’s exactly what it would run here, maybe a little less - and that’s with US salaries not Russian.

We use expeller expressed coconut oil. It does not taste like coconuts ( unlike virgin oil) so it's good for frying etc. It is still very high in the fatty acid Lauric acid. lauric acid has many health benefits, including antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal and anticancer properties. 👍

It'll be interesting to see how much prices and selections have been affected in this supermarket one year later in Feb of '23. Btw, we cook with olive oil, canola oil, and butter here from Iowa.

So much cheaper than Brooklyn, even Russian stores in Brooklyn but considering income I guess that makes sense
