I bought this just recently, and the video was helpful. However, the kit only came with one positap. I didn't have a good place to anchor the ground, so I ended up having to splice the ground to the brown wire. Not the hardest thing, but Grom should just include the 2nd positap automatically. I also had a heck of a time reinserting the head unit once I installed the Grom unit. When I put the Grom where the video shows it, the head unit wouldn't fit in. Therefore, I found that there is a gap to the back left that you can insert the Grom into, and then everything fits great. The system works awesome, so nice to finally have bluetooth in my car. 2007 S60 T5.

Mine only came with the yellow 12V wire, I don't have a ground wire at all on mine. Is this a newer cable that doesn't need the ground wire? Tag on the cable says VOL01 which connects to a cable labeled VEXTF. Car is a 2006 Volvo S60

Yes, correct. It is a newer cable that does not need the ground wire. Please follow to the install instructions that came with your kit.

Thanks guys! This was really helpful. It was dead easy to install the stuff. Albeit the box didn't give any quality impression. It actually self-opened in the palm of my hand. But no worries, no one will tamper it behind the stereo panel. Maybe you could have been more clear without the video cut/edit for with the mick wiring through the dashboard (think I heard some plastic crack behind mine..). As estimated, it took me around 40 minutes and a cup of coffee. :-) I did it exactly like the video... works like a charm. Please let me know if the ground wiring will cause any problems, like exploding car or other cars playing my spotify lists etc... ;-)

No, there should not be CD in CD player. GROM takes over external CD changer mode, so if there is external CD changer present - it will be replaced by GROM. But there is no need to have CD in CD player.

Hey. I have 2007 volvo s60 2.5T I dont have the CD changer installed and just have the CD player that came with my model. Will this video instruction still apply to my vehicle or will I ned to get the CD changer in order to get the CD changer cord to connect to the GROM kit? Thanks!!

Hello, the video instructions are similar, but the connection is slightly different. GROM kit that is compatible with your vehicle is VOLSO4 model, which is available here: gromaudio.com/store/most_adapters/grom-mst4-volso4.html You do not need to get the CD changer, this model of GROM will work with Single CD stereos. I threaded the microphone cable next to the steering column after moving the steering wheel down. There seemed to be less risk than threading it between the instrument cluster and the piece of plastic that runs beneath it. When I tried to make room there, I felt like I was going to crack something. Just a thought.

I don't like the excess remains of the cables coming out of the console. Is there any way I could drill holes through the console and put the cables through there and create a tight socket for both the usb charging port and for the aux input.

Hello, I just installed the BT3 in my Volvo s80 2004 mod. The Bluetooth works fine for music. But, the microphone doesn't work when I make a call. I can here the other person through the speakers in the car. But, he can't here me. What is wrong? Remi

So, nice to know for everyone who are going to install this: the round cable who are to be plugged into HU, be aware that this must be plugged in upside-down, (The cable need to point UP) the opposite way of the original and/or cable for amplifier. The plug is so soft so it will just adjust itself to the port in the HU. Neither this video or the install instructions is saying anything about this.

Hmm, that is interesting. Thank you for bringing it up. Usually people just need to look at the DIN connector and port that they should match up, the DIN connector can only go in one way. We will retest it here again.
