New Heights

Күн бұрын

On the twenty-second episode of New Heights, we've been asking you guys who you wanted on the show and there was one name that came up every time, or at least 92% of the time. So we finally got the 5x pro bowler, 4x first-team NFL all-pro, 4x Super Bowl Champion, and one of the best to ever do it, Rob Gronkowski.
In this episode, Jason and Travis get the details about why Gronk is kicking a field goal at the Super Bowl, the return of “Gronk Beach”, and acting alongside GILFs.
We find out whether we’ll see Gronk return in the playoffs, the reason he’s got an eye on the Buffalo Bills, why the Patriots were already yelling at him on Draft Day, and how he ended up at the University of Arizona.
Travis and Jason get the behind-the-scenes stories from Gronk’s rookie year with the Patriots, his first time meeting Tom Brady, the insanity that was trying to block Brandon Spikes, why Belichick is the greatest coach of all time, where he thinks Brady goes next, and his welcome to the NFL moment with Vince Wilfork.
Gronk opens up about what it’s been like to constantly get compared to Travis, what TE records he hopes never get broken, why Jeremy Shockey was his TE role model, how the position has changed, and who’s the next TE to watch out for.
Finally, we get Gronk’s POV on some of our signature segments with his Mt. Rushmore of NFL brothers, our not-dumb question about animals playing football, Gronk’s advice to his younger self, and his stamp of the week that you absolutely don’t see coming.
And in case you missed either of our special guest episodes, check out the Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes conversations below.
Patrick Mahomes Episode: • Patrick Mahomes on QB ...
Jalen Hurts Episode: • Jalen Hurts on Draft N...
Watch and listen to new episodes of New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce every Wednesday during the NFL season & check us out on Instagram, Twitter and Tiktok for all the best moments from the show.

The dude is very smart. When he was playing he didn’t spend any of his contract money, just the endorsement cash. That’s a savy thing to do. Also, you don’t get as good as he was without being smart.

It's funny to hear the story about Brady introducing himself to gronk because the same thing happened to me with Travis! I was bartending at a golf course and he wanted some Gatorade (anything but red, don't worry man I remember) and he was like "nice to meet you man I'm travis" and in my head I was thinking no shit dude everyone in kansas city knows who you are.

I'm so happy we actually did. I kind of feel happy and sad for them and the parents. No matter who wins they're going to have one son that loses and no matter which brother does win, they have to look across the field and see their other brother sad. But of course they'll be happy for each other no matter what because that's just what kind of men they are. They are simply amazing men in general. Phenomenal football players, humble, funny, and gracious. They have the best most genuine and honest personalities and demeanors. It seems they're very appreciative of the opportunities they thought and it doesn't say no take anything for granted from the experiences, the family, the teams, coaches, friends, all the way to the money. What more could you ask for out of these NFL Pro Athletes. Gronk is a stand-up gentlemen as well.

@WheelchairWolverine
@WheelchairWolverine Жыл бұрын
@@sprawlz6466 Shannon himself has proclaimed that Gronk is the undisputed GOAT TE. Probably the most well rounded football player to ever play on offense. Unstoppable pass catcher and better than half the leagues o-linemen. He saved the patriots many times by coming in and blocking 7-9 plays. Then smashing a TD in the redzone or popping a huge block, then getting open, catching a pass and racking up YAC! He was unbelievable for us for so many years. He’s the GOAT already. But he could have been even more dominant had he not been injured so many times. But he gave us and the bucs everything he had. Brady to Gronk might be the greatest duo of all time. Because they were so in sync with each other. They didn’t even have to talk. They both could see the same thing and just sliced up defenses!!
@sprawlz6466
@sprawlz6466 Жыл бұрын
@@WheelchairWolverine I agree with all of that. He was the greatest TE of all time when he played. But he was available for only like 60-70% of his career. Shannon Sharpe didn’t get hurt like that. Neither does Kelce honestly. Plus, Sharpe was also an incredible blocker. He was so fast, no one could cover him. And the fastest DBs in the league still couldn’t do it because of his size. He was phenomenal and didn’t get hurt. Plus there were some other beasts back in the day like Mackey and Ditka. Idk, it’s a tough choice to pin just one of them as the GOAT. Also Gonzalez exists
@Captainaceguy00
@Captainaceguy00 Жыл бұрын
@@sprawlz6466 gronk has the best te season ever and Kelce will finish as best te all time. Sharpe, gates, Gonzalez and the rest are hall of famers for a reason but they don’t match up with Kelce statistically. Kelce has been a top 5 receiver for 6-7 seasons straight while playing te. He’s already breaking records and he is not even close to being done. I believe he will hold every record, besides gronks single season td record, by the time he finishes his career.

Never been a fan of Gronk’s schtick but this interview is one of the best sports interviews I’ve ever seen. Seemed like Gronk opened up more than he ever had and showed a genuine side of himself, not the WWE persona he’s always given off

I have never liked Rob Gronkowski as a player or personality in other venues of entertainment. With that said I have to admit I loved this episode. I really found myself enjoying his stories as well as his interaction with the Kelce brothers. He came across as a regular guy that you could just hang out with. Kudos on another great episode.

I can feel the love between both of you. Love your stories. you both are now in the playoffs and im rooting for you both to meet each other in the SUPERBOWL!! that would be awesome. You both definitely have a new fan here. Wish you both the best in your careers and even more importantly in Life. Take care Bros. 🤜🏈🤛

My favorite part of the entire ep., despite the outstanding, legendary football commentary and comradery of these three, was the bro's faces when Gronk said Dinosaur lolol. And the delay in reaction 🤣 I'm dying.
