You must have such good confident, calm, energy. My dog won't stand up that long. Luckily he loves to be vacuumed.

What a beautiful peke! My thoughts of this groomer is that it's hasty, the tail was trimmed too short and nothing left of his beautiful coat. But that must have been the owners instruction. Beautiful color and well behaved peke. Were the ears trimmed inside which causes itching, he's cute as a button!

Do you mean the interior of the ears should be kept very trim ( to avoid itchiness ) ? I have 2 Pekingese that I rescued out of a breeding kennel, and I want to do every little thing I can to help make every moment of their new life w/ me as comfortable & easy as they well deserve it to be, so any advice will be very appreciated, and followed ...

This peke looks a lot like mine! I just recently got her and I'm not too familiar with what goes in to grooming a dog with a thick long coat. When I got her she was matted in a lot of spots and I could see her ear fur was chopped off (I didn't know this is a preferred look, I love feathering). I did my best to brush her out cause she was shedding horribly but her coat still tangled when I gave her a bath. I almost cried trying to get the mats out. She's mat free now and sporting a few bald spots >.> Is the slicker the best brush for pekes? I used a paddle, slicker, comb, and brush. How can I prevent her from getting mats after a bath? Should I use a blow dryer? Or conditioner? I don't want to get her fur clipped off again (I love brushing a dog) but is trimming the tail and butt a necessity? She does tend to collect whatever debris she walks through

my pekingese does it too. Nothing happened as far as I know, Always been that way nomatter how you try to make it fun he just doesnt like it and you cant not groom a pekingese or they will tangle.

It's a pekingese. I have the same type. Black and tan collors. Mine doesn't have that thicknes of hair on its back though. His back is the same as this dogs ears.
