I think that’s a great way to start grooming on your own. Getting them to the groomers regularly so they get used to it and then starting on your own will make it much easier. Harlow is beautiful and you did a great job!

I am a dog groomer, and I think you did good for doing it at home 🙂. I want to applaud you for telling people that Goldendoodle's need grooming! I have heard so many people tell me they were told Doodles in general don't need much grooming aka don't need to be brushed 😞. And I just sit there and get angry about it, but I LOVE that you tell people the truth; and that they are NOT Hypoallergenic, thank you! I have that conversation at least 5 times a week. Grooming is a lot harder than people think, I love that you keep your Doodle's at a good length. The 1 Guard (in Minnesota we call them Clip Combs) is about 1/2 inch. I think Harlow did a great job for you. When you get a grooming table it'll be so much easier 😇. Great job!

I had a mini labradoodle mix and we got tired of spending $75-$100 on her every month to get groomed so we just did it ourselves and it was super hard and she looked a little wonky at first but it was definitely worth it by saving the money. And we eventually got better at it so she looked less wonky every time lol

You did great!!! Harlow sat so well for you too ! You'll get better at the laws the more you do it. My poodle wouldn't even let me touch her paws so she always had to go to the groomers. You'll be a pro in no time!

Really good job! 😊I groom my poodles and cockapoos myself, Definitely not easy. I like the poodle hair better because it cuts more even opposed to the wavy cockapoo hair that grows in all different directions.😵 Glad I got into it, it's a nice extra hobby. Keep in mind for anyone interested in grooming yourself it can get pricey with the equipment.

You did great! I been grooming my dogs for 6 years now.. I invested in a shop vac to use after I groom them works great! If the weather is good or u got carport/garage that makes it better to do rather then inside your home.

Tip from a groomer. You need to do the clipping STRAIGHT AFTER the blow-dry. Waiting a day or 2 will give chance for dander, dirt and natural coat oils to get on the coat which will eventually ruin your clipper blades and shears and leave a less smooth finish. No amount of brushing is going to get it back out. Especially on doodle coats x

Yes, brush the hair against the hair growth pattern. Bailey actually used that technique when she cut her coat on Harlow’s back.

Harlo is such a doll baby ❤️ I have a black golden doodle named Lilo that is 9 which was a rescue, 2 Bichon’s and a Shitzu mix. I take the Goldendoodle and the bichons to get groomed and I know what you mean by pricey lol When we first got Lilo I did try to groom her myself and cut her loose skin on her neck. She didn’t even budge. But, from that point on I’ve always got them groomed. Keep making videos!!! I so enjoy them!!❤️❤️

I groom my mini labradoodle at home to she has a 4f blade in the summer and I tend to keep her legs a bit longer than her body because she has twig legs 🤣 and her head is left quite fluffy but I do prefer the beard to be trimmed short to avoid the water everywhere after she drinks 😂
