Im from England. One of your alto sax turned up in a job lot of instruments at an auction. My music directors husband bought this job lot, nobody could get a note out of it( playing it wrong) so they handed it to me (use to play clarinet) I first adjusted the reed, what a sweet note just love playing it. Went in the search engine on internet and found you and recognised the art work. Now I know what it is snd what it can do, such fun, especially in church. Thank you for making such a beautiful instrument.

I used to play professionally. In fact my Selmer Series III alto is sitting in the corner. One of the reasons I don't play anymore is because of a bad back. Your unit seems light weight. If you don't mind, why a tenor reed on an alto mouthpiece? Question: Can you play bebop on that thing?

Hey Erik, What's the difference between concert Sax and non-concert?

Concert tuned is the universal standard of tuning. Called A440. When the note A vibrates at 440 vibrations per second. To make this I need to get my shop between 68 and 72 degrees, warm the instrument to 98 degrees and every note needs to be dead on or a tiny bit bright on an electronic meter. The ones that come out too bright or too low are tuned to themselves and are non concert. Good for playing alone. Musicians like them in tune with the world. As it is more work, it cost more for concert quality. You can also look at the "concert tuned" name and think the instrument is tuned to play in a concert. Regards, Erik

Erik The Flutemaker it was an alto sax, the wood curves to the left near the top of the sax and the inside went from circular to an oval. But I will definately get another one when I have extra money to spend 🙂

The back hole must be closed when playing. And when needed,it is the high DO. As in 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow'. It would be the second note in the song. All holes open is high Do. All closed is low DO. Erik
