It's weird how certain 'specific' types of music -- recorded music can instantly put one (me anyway) into memory blitz! The first 5 seconds of the first tune I'm thinking of tennis courts wearing terry-cloth shirts, tall rough (splintery!) wood posts used in parks & small shopping areas, somebody making a joke (again!) about President Jimmy Carter's teeth, someone else saying; "we wanna watch Charlie's Angel's tonight!" And then "oh no......the gas lines might get long again". OK.....I didn;t want it to go negative. Ooops. [:-)]

Ok, I'm giving tips here because this is such great music. There is cross-talk occurring between songs and within the quiet passages. Did you have the radio on or another source playing while recording this tape onto your computer? I don't think it is native to the tape because the songs are modern alternative pop in the cross, unless this material was recorded recently onto the old reel (which would be odd) and maybe it had newer material on it beforehand that didn't get erased well...?
