I think you are talking about Howie the crab who is a much loved pet with a worldwide following Christian. Some of the funky stuff is their stomachs and stuff that they moult too along with eyeballs. Pet crabs are lovely pets ❤

This made me think of the thing going around saying that lobsters would be immortal, but can get stuck during a moult and die. I had to google to find out which animal I had watched a Tiktok about, and then found out it isn't true. Some info below to kick start your dive into the weird and wild world of crustaceans.... Things like lobsters and crabs don't really "get old" (senescence). Our growth, reproduction and metabolism slow down as we get older; lobsters and crabs don't really slow down, and there is no cap on how big or old lobsters can get. Some of the record holders have been about 10kg and 100 years old! Moulting makes them vulnerable and requires a lot of energy to do, so some die from the exertion/predators. Others stop moulting when they're getting old (I didn't know that was a process an animal could somewhat control, but okay). Then their exoskeleton gets worn and torn with life, and bacteria can swoop in and make them sick/dead.
